Headquarters Committee Members Present: President General Ellen McCaffrey, Alice Nowotny, Evelyn

Reininger, Mary Goodwin, John Ellen Becker, Lynne Byrd, Shirley Barber, Suzanne Warlick

Excused Absence: Custodian General Arlene Garey, Betty Hill, Joan Chapman

In Custodian General Arlene Garey’s place, John Ellen Becker called the meeting to order at 10:05 am.

Evelyn Reininger gave the opening prayer and Alice Nowotny led the pledges to the flag. Minutes for

June 18, 2014 meeting were approved as submitted.

OFFICER REPORTS

• President General Ellen McCaffrey : No report

• Custodian General Arlene Garey: John Ellen Becker thanked everyone for stepping up to help

going to the workshops in Arlene’s place. She also commented on the graffiti on the windows of

the Headquarters building. It will be cleaned off this afternoon.

REPORTS

• Financial: No report

• Staff: Kelsey reported that the man will come this afternoon to clean the graffiti off the windows

and the brick in the front for $150. She reported the Headquarters table had made $80 at

Lampasas workshop and $250 at the Ft Worth workshop. Tables approved at previous meeting

will be purchased as soon as she and Renee can go to Walmart to pick them up.

• Texas Lineage Research: Report attached. Evelyn Reininger reported she has given her Power

Point presentation at the workshops for Districts V and I and they have been well received. She

is still tweeking it and will be presenting also at the remaining workshops. See attached report.

• Vision Report: Report is attached. John Ellen also mentioned that we need to find more donors

in and out of DRT. It was discussed that the planning of the History Complex is pretty much

specified now, and that now we need to get on with raising money to make it a reality. All DRT

members should look to their communities to see who might be possible donors.

• TART: Suzanne Warlick reported that each of the team members are still working on examining

the database for the needed changes. She is going to update the original draft of the plan of the

team to present at the September BOM meeting.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

• Chapter Pin Book: Alice Nowotny reported it is still being worked on.

• Employee Job Description Handbook: John Ellen Becker still working on it.

NEW BUSINESS:

• Judy Wolfe will be at Headquarters after the meeting to meet with John Ellen, Lynne, Ellen and

any other members of the committee that want to stay to discuss how to proceed with the

employee evaluations.

• John Ellen asked how minutes of committee meetings get to Mary Goodwin to be put on the

website as this might give more members an idea of what is happening. Discussion followed.

• Suzanne asked for direction as to revamping the license plate brochure. She had a tentative

mock-up, but after discussion, she will go back and approach it in a different way and present at

next meeting.
