Agricultural Research System in the Public sector (1/2)

The national agricultural research system is mainly under the authority of the Ministry of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environment (MANRE). One of its departments, namely the Agricultural Research Institute (ARI), is the only Cyprus institution engaged exclusively in agricultural research, covering the wider domain of crop and animal production. Other departments of the MANRE are also engaged, to some extent, in research in their respective domains:

The Ministry of Education is also engaged in agricultural research, mainly through the Cyprus University of Technology (http://www.ucy.ac.cy). Two departments are relevant to agricultural research: Department of Agricultural Sciences,

The only institution devoted to agricultural research is the Agricultural Research Institute: http://www.ari.gov.cy. Its activities cover all areas of plant and animal production, agricultural economics and environmental aspects related to agriculture.
