Political Freedom, Religious Tolerance, Personal Integrity; Freemasonry - it's not for everyone! September 2016 Welcome Back! I hope everyone had a great summer and that you are ready for another packed fall. Things get kicked off next month with the start-up of the Blue Lodge meetings and then right into our annual gold fundraiser. This year’s tournament will be on Sat. Sept 17th at Oak Hill Golf Course in Rice. We have a good number of teams participating again this year but can definitely still use some more. This event is geared to every whether you golf regularly, golf every once and awhile, or have only seen it on TV you will have a good time I guarantee it! For those of you terrified of participation don’t worry there is still room for you to help without showing off your athletic prowess. Tournaments like these are always in need of door prizes and anything is appreciated. We also can always use volunteers to help monitor small games, check-in teams, and draw for prizes. There are also still several holes open for sponsorship. This tournament is an excellent opportunity for the lodge to earn money to fund our programs. The more help that we can get from the larger organization the more successful it can be! If you have interest in helping out please give me a call. One other thing we have to gear up for right away in the fall is degree work. We have several candidates, some that have been voted on and some new ones from the summer. As we move the candidates through the degree work we will be reaching out to brothers to help out with lectures and the degree work itself. Doing a good job at these degrees is really important it is a newly admitted brother’s first experience in the lodge. There will be more information to come on events scheduled throughout the fall so please stayed tuned. If there are any questions please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly at 320.241.8666 or [email protected]. Welcome Back!

Granite Chapter #5 - Order of Eastern Star The summer has flown by, and it is back to school and OES work!

At the August meeting we began to collect School Supplies for Anna Maries to be delivered to the Shelter in September. The basket is in place in the Fellowship Hall, so bring your donations in September!

Meghan sent a report on the Brat Sale at Coborns with the Jobies. We raised $473, and the proceeds were split based on the hours worked – 75% of it went to Jobies. Thanks Girls, it was fun working with you.

Since our theme was Beach Party – we did a word scramble and the top winners received gift cards to Dairy Queen to enjoy a summer treat.

We draped our charter in memory of two Past Grand Matron, Vivian Deforrest and Linda Wright. Both sister we great contributor to our Order and will be missed.

With the busy summer activities, there will be no Fifth Monday Social in August – but get ready for next quarter. Could be “spooky”!!

Looking ahead to the fall, we will start planning for our October Mystery Trip, the OV in November and the Masonic Family Christmas Party with Anna Marie’s as our guest at the next meeting.

Call: (320-290-9806) if you have questions and we will see you in Chapter!

Worthy Matron, Nancy Fischer

York RiteThe joint Commandry and Royal Arch Sessions are held on those months containing 5 Tuesdays. The remaining TWO sessions for 2016 are: August 30; and November 29. Therefore, the next session will be Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at North Star Lodge. A meal will be served at 6:30pm followed by the meeting which will start at 7:00pm. The York Rite structure is based on local sites, vs commuting to centralized locations. Pull yourself away from your I-Pad or I-Phone and join the York Rite. You’ll learn some real stuff!
