• The Corpus Christi CYO has ended its Region & Archdiocese seasons, but we are not finished!

• Basketball season is not over until Corpus Christi CYO delivers a spectacular March Madness finale.

• This weekend 97 HS alumni, along with 170 CYO 5th-8th

graders come together for a fun-filled, fund raising weekend - the greatest basketball weekend of the year!

• The March Madness weekend will begin on Thursday March 1st with our first annual alumni night!

• Grade school play starts March 2nd and finishes Sunday, March 4th.

• Each of our tournament teams is promised 2 games, with a “survive and advance format”

• Coaches, players and fans should come hungry as the weekend also features our Super Sized Snack Bar!

• Please have your child come to the gym a minimum of 30 minutes prior to each game so they can check-in, collect their shirts, or meet with their coaches.

• This weekend’s marathon is not only to celebrate the season, but most importantly to come together as a CYO community to help others.

• This year Corpus Christi CYO was saddened to learn of two Region 20 families that lost a parent over the holidays. Corpus Christi CYO is looking to help support these families in their time of transition…We challenge the kids to play hard and the parents to donate big to show the value of a strong CYO family and community.

• This weekend only happens with everyone’s giving of time to the Madness. We thank you, our volunteers, in advance and look forward to seeing you refereeing, working the snack bar, cleaning the gym, running the scoreboards or any one of a number of tasks that make this weekend such a success for the kids.

• If you cannot make your scheduled assignment, please work to get coverage or switch with another parent, so that the weekend rolls forward. Thank you in advance for all your contributions.

• Any COACH, PLAYER, or SPECTATOR FOUND IN RESTRICTED AREAS DURING MARCH MADNESS WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE CORPUS GYM FOR THE DAY OR HAVE PARENTS CALLED TO PICK THEM UP

*You must be registered to play in the alumni games; HS walk-in registrations may coach only

• Two 12 minute running clock halves; 5 minute half-time

• Last minute of game/OT the clock will stop on all whistles

• Shooting fouls last minute of game and OT

• Two 60-second time outs per game

• Overtime periods will be 3 minutes

• 15 point rule: any team ahead by 15 points must stay within the 3pt line on defense

• JV can only press the last two minutes of each half

• Varsity can press throughout

• Fouls: After the 7th team foul (per half) the opposing team will receive 1 point for each foul and the ball.

• Flagrant fouls, 2 points will be awarded. The referee may remove player from the game.

• Intentional fouls on a breakaway the basket will be awarded.
