DESCRIPTION

A wonderful collaboration between Mozart and Hertfordshire, UK: aided and abetted by Edmund Rubbra, Simon Ayres, transport afficionado and film maker, Leonard Bernstein and myself. The short essay sets the whole idea in some sort of perspective. Annie Lee (Oklahoma) is the dedicatee - we learn. My fans by now know that embedded links are not highlighted in bold.

The Conducted Bus

I think that when I was pursuing my final exit from Britain, in October 2010, the night bus stopped at Hemel Hempstead (which means high new town) and numb with lack of sleep here I posted some phone credit cards to certain friends who might pray for me in the next life Georgia. None replied, my twenty pieces of silver were spent and I duly arrived in Georgia four years and several radians later. If you remember Bernstein for a highly sexed, flamboyant Playboy of the Western World think again. He is quite possibly the greatest conductor we have ever seen. His original of this Fourtieth Symphony can be seen herehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qzBwa2jI1OcI have attached it to the beautiful film of a Hertfordshire bus aficionado, Simon Ayres. Simon seems to belong to a class of British experts there are many! who flourish in such diverse fields as stamp-collecting, railways, buses, model train sets, football, Sherlock Holmes quotes, languages and many, many more.We British are the worst at complimenting these people : all male, all geeks, all incredibly touched with what Helen Waddell called the mark of the maker. The balletic presence of Leonard Bernstein in interpreting this Mozart which is so familiar and yet so strange, is extraordinary even on YouTube. Every nuance is precisely calibrated as if in a Periodic Table of Beauty. More than two pages to hint at such riches I cannot write. I leave you with Simon, Leonard and UK.
