TRUST IN JESUS Today’s feast celebrates another central

mystery of our faith—the mystery of the

Eucharist. Like the mystery of the Trinity,

the real presence of the Body and Blood of

Christ in the Eucharist can never be fully

understood, but can only be believed. Just

as the Israelites in the desert were invited

to put their trust in God’s word to them, we

are invited to trust wholly in the word of

Jesus. In today’s Gospel Jesus promises

to give us a share in his very own flesh

and blood, and a share in eternal life be-

sides. We are called to take him at his

word and open our hearts to receive true nourishment and life from our partic-

ipation in the Eucharist.

Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co., Inc.

Please grant Eternal rest unto them, O Lord, and let your perpetual light shine upon them.

May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in

peace. Amen

This Father’s Day... Think of how your life honors your father.

Also acknowledge the fathers who come by their role indirectly (foster and adoptive fathers, fathers-in-law,

stepfathers, and those who have been like a father to you.) Honor an honorary father this week! It takes a special man to raise a child…

reliable, selfless, responsible, available, forgiving & loveable!

Thank you for making a difference in another’s life!

FATHERHOOD

Blessed indeed is the man who hears many gentle voices call him father!

Dear Holy People of God: Today is the solemnity of the BODY and BLOOD of Christ SUNDAY! In our spiritual experience and di-vine language, it is the EUCHARIST. It is the FIESTA OF OUR SALVATION enshrined in the Eucharistic Prayer:

"This is my BODY…given up for you; this is the chalice of my BLOOD… poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins."

Henri Nouwen, one of the greatest spiritual writers of our times, de-scribes to us the spirituality of the Eucharist in this manner:

“The EUCHARIST is the most ordinary and the most divine gesture [of God]. That is the truth of Jesus: so human, yet so divine; so familiar, yet so mysterious; so close, yet so centuries past; so revealing, and yet so puzzling. It is the story of God who wants to come close to us: we can see him with our own eyes, hear him with our own ears, touch him with our own hands; so close that there is nothing between us and him; nothing that separates, nothing that divides, nothing that creates distance.” [It is the INCARNATION!]

Pope Francis, said: “Eat this sacred food, so that your bond of unity with Christ may never be broken. Drink this sacred blood, the price he paid for you, so that you may never lose heart be-cause of your sinfulness.” The Eucharist is a celebration of Jesus' total surrender, his personal self-giving presence for our salvation. And we have to embrace that surrender. So, during communion time, in order to receive Jesus with pure hearts, let us try to clear our conscience with the following reflec-tion questions:

If we hate other people, are we ready to receive Jesus as the bread of love? If we discriminate other people in our midst, even in our celebration of the Eucharist, are we ready to receive Jesus as the bread of hospitality? If we hesitate to give food to the hungry and water to the thirsty, and if we support abortion, death penalty and Euthanasia, are we ready to receive Jesus as the bread of life? If we are a vio-lent person (husband, wife, neighbor or friend) are we ready to receive Jesus as the bread of peace?

So, today, once we received the body and blood of Christ, they should move us then into living out our identity and mission of self-giving: “to lay down one’s life for one’s friends”. And once we participate in this calling and mission, we immortalize that the miracle of Incarna-tion is happening everyday on earth, that like Jesus, we can also become the bread of life for others, and become the wine of love for everyone. God bless you all! Fr. Romy, MS

2nd Fl - 7:00 a 9:00 pm Información: Raquel Aguilar (909) 803-0301

RCIA— How does the Church define the term

“Holy Trinity”? The mystery of one God in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spir-it. The revealed truth of the Holy Trinity is at the very root of the Church’s living faith as expressed in the Creed. The Son proceeds from the Father while the Holy Spirit proceeds from the father and the Son. Each Person of the Holy Trinity is equally God. In everything they do they act as one. The mystery of the Trinity in itself is inaccessible to the human mind and is the object of faith only because it was revealed by Jesus Christ, the Divine Son of the eternal Father. See the Cate-chism of the Catholic Church paragraph # 253-256 for further infor-mation.

RCIA—Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults Is God calling you to become Catholic?

It begins with an awareness...or stirring in one’s heart for something more. It could be a curiosity or a sense of long for fulfillment. Maybe it’s God calling you to explore the life of faith, love, and justice within the community of the Catholic Church. The RCIA process offers an opportunity for you to learn and ask ques-tions about the Catholic faith. It is primarily for the un-baptized, but also includes a special tract for those baptized in another faith tradition. We also invite inquiring Catholics to also come and join us for refreshers on what they learned as children. We meet all year round.

Please come and join us Tuesday evenings from 7:30PM to 9:30PM in the Parish Library.

For more information on the process, please call Danny or Vicki Centurioni

Prayer Shawl Ministry—Praying for Donations The Prayer Shawl Ministry is in need of donations to keep the ministry active. The ministers purchase their own materials, which can be very costly. Donations or monetary donations, with Prayer Shawl Ministry noted, would be appreciated. These Prayer Shawls are created to be a comfort for those suffering and in need of heal-ing. The Ministers pray throughout the making of the shawl or lap blanket, and then have the items blessed by our priests before delivering to the recipient. Prayer Shawl Ministers share their time, talent and service, as an act of prayer for healing, peace and God’s loving presence. Please bring your donations to Debby Leonardo, Pastoral Care, in the Parish Office. If there are any questions, please contact Anne Napolitano 909-935-9080. Thank you and May God Bless you for your support….

Sacrament of the Sick The Sacrament of the Sick is a Sacrament offered by the Church for healing in sickness. This sickness may be physi-cal, mental or emotional. Anyone of any age can receive the Sacrament as often as needed, but not usually not less than a 3 month period. Only a priest can offer the Sacra-

ment of the Sick. The Church will do everything possible, in case of an emergency. However, it may be difficult if it is “last minute”. May this be a reminder to take ad-vantage of the healing Sacraments of the Church ~ For Sacrament of the Sick … Please contact the Parish Office at 909-987-9312 During hours the office is closed, call 909-532-3312 for Emergencies.

Catholic Faith-Based - Grief Support Group Coping with the Puzzles of Grief

Grief is a difficult journey with so much information from friends, family and even stranger a trying to be helpful telling one how they should grieve. Too much information is so overwhelming that it makes grieving even more difficult. So how do we put the puzzle pieces back together? Here are some suggestions to help you cope with grief.

These are just a few ideas that can help you through this difficult time. The most important thing to remember is take time for yourself to heal. We wish the journey would be over quickly, but this is a slow process that takes time so please be patient with yourself. I waited patiently for the Lord; he inclined to me and heard me cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit of destruction, out of the mud and mire, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure. (Psalm 40) Any questions please contact Andrea Woore 909 261-3487

"Love watches. A mother prolongs her watches by her baby's cradle till late at night. After lulling him to sleep, she continues her vigil, all the while covering his soul with her silent prayers and, with anxious concern, thinking of his future no less ob-scure than the night around the house. "Jesus cannot permit even one mother to surpass Him in love and tender solicitude. At night, when His children are resting in sleep, He watches over them, covers them with His prayers, and protects them, 'as a hen gathers her young under her wings.'" - Excerpt from Jose Guadalupe Trevino's "The Holy Eucharist", on the love of Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament

FATHERHOOD Blessed indeed is the man who hears many gentle

voices call him father! —Lydia M. Child

Respect Life— Some

"Choices" have Victims

A misguided letter published in the Florida Times Union complained, "If you are opposed to abortion, don't have one!" This type of argument is not only sad, but is a typical argument made by those who support abortion and other evils. In fact, it is an exactly simi-lar to the rationale that was used to justify keeping slavery legal. Most people understand that we have to intervene to help the poor, the AIDS victim, the drug addict, the victim of crime and war. Even if we do not know the victims' names, or have never seen their faces, we know it is our business to help them. We do not hear people say, "I would never rape or abuse a child, but if the other person wants to do so, that’s their choice." The reason people do not say that is that they realize that some choices have victims ----and our laws are meant to protect these innocent victims. When somebody’s "choice" destroys or threatens somebody else’s life, that’s everyone’s business. It is, after all, the business of all Christians "to love one another...". This requires us to intervene to save our broth-ers and sisters in need. And no group of human beings needs our help more than the 3,500 innocent babies who are slaughtered each and every day in our nation. Many oppose abortion but do not think anything can be done. However, the problem is not that there is nothing that can be done, but that there are not enough people doing the perfectly legal, peaceful and effective activities they can do to end abortion. That is why we all need to get involved!

(The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ? The bread that we break, is it not a participation in the body of Christ? Because the loaf of bread is one, we, though many, are one body, for we all partake of the one loaf.)

Any adult volunteering in the Diocese of San Bernardino needs to have

completed safe environment training within the last five years.

If it has been a while since you completed this training, chances are you

are out of compliance! The current program for adult volunteers is called “Protecting God’s Children®” by VIRTUS. This training can be taken on-line on the VIR-TUS website. Due to the content, taking a live session is strongly en-

couraged. This training can be taken at a location and time that is convenient for you anywhere in the diocese. It is required that you register for either type of training through the VIRTUS website. Please go to www.virtus.org to see the list of local training sessions and to register. Walk-ins may not be able to be ac-

commodated as space is limited at most training sites. Any volunteer whose compliance training was completed in 2012 or

earlier must complete this new training in order to continue volunteering. Please call Jenny Campbell at

(909)987-9312 for information or questions about your status or how to

register.
