World Day of Migrants and Refugees Mass September 29th at 12 Noon at the Cathedral Basilica

The Church has been celebrating the World Day of Migrants and Refugees since 1914. It is always an occasion to express concern for many different vulnerable people on the move; to pray for their challenges and increase awareness about the opportunities that migration offers. For 2019, Pope Francis has chosen the theme “It is not just about migrants” to make sure no one remains excluded from society, whether a long-time resident or someone newly-arrived. Our local celebration will be highlighted by a Mass celebrated by Cardinal Tobin on Sunday, September 29th at noon in the Cathedral Basilica. All the faithful of the Archdiocese are invited to this celebration of the unity and diversity of the Archdiocese. All are invited to come in the dress of their native country to show the universality of the Archdiocese.

If you are a baptized Catholic, over age 19, who hasn’t

finished receiving the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism,

Holy Communion or Confirmation) You are invited to

join our RCIA process.

If you are a non-Catholic adult, and are interested in

learning more about the Catholic faith, You are also

cordially invited to join our RCIA process without

obligation of any kind. You may register at the Parish

Center office. Classes will begin Wednesday, September

25, 2019 at 7:30pm in the St. Cecilia Parish Center

basement. There are also adult RCIA Classes available in

Spanish on Sunday Mornings. Please contact Fr. John

Wassell for more information at (201) 991-1116.

Registration forms are available at the Parish Center

office during regular office hours.

WEDNESDAYS “BIBLE STUDY”

WITH FR. JOHN WASSELL

Join us every Wednesday at 7:30pm in

the St. Cecilia Rectory basement.

A NOTE FROM FR. JOHN

On August 15th, 2019 Cardinal Tobin appointed me

to a second term as Pastor of St. Cecilia Parish and

Administrator of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish ending

July 1st, 2025. I’m very grateful to God and to the

Cardinal for the trust that they have shown to me.

Please pray that I may faithfully serve God and all of

you for the next six years. Sincerely, Fr. John

EMAIL SCAM

An email scam has surfaced again in the Archdiocese. The scam email purports to be from your parish priest, who is asking for money or gift cards because of some urgent need; for example, to help someone in the hospital. Please be assured that no priest of the Archdiocese would ever legitimately ask for money in this way. We encourage you to report such incidents to the New Jersey Cyber Crimes Unit and delete the email message.

REFLEXIÓN BIBLICA DOMINICAL DEL

DR. SCOTT HAHN

Is

debemos a nuestro Amo.

Jn 14,2).

TEMA DO 25º DOMINGO DO TEMPO COMUM

O Evangelho apresenta a parábola do

administrador astuto.

fraternidade.
