ACT College Readiness Assessment
The ACT college readiness assessment will be given in our school
to all juniors on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 from 8:15 a.m. until approx-
imately 12:15 p.m. The state of North Dakota pays for juniors to take
this test free at their local high school on this date. If a student misses
school on the initial test date, they may take it at their high school on
the makeup test date-March 31st. Parents of juniors are encouraged to
contact Mrs. Zavada if they have any questions concerning this assess-
ment.
Our juniors have TestGEAR accounts on RUReadyND.com where
they have an abundance of free test materials from which to study for
the ACT assessment. They were also given paper versions of a full ACT
practice test.
The ACT is accepted by all 4-year colleges and universities in the
United States. It is not an aptitude or an IQ test. The test questions on
the ACT are directly related to what students have learned in their high
school courses in English, mathematics, reading, and science. Every
day those students attend class they are preparing for the ACT. The
harder students work in school, the more prepared they will be for the
test!
Reminder for Seniors and their Parents/Guardians:

(FAFSA)? Their website is www.fafsa.gov.
Please remember to submit your completed application by the follow-

Each college may have a different deadline. Check with the college(s)
you are interested in attending.
Students already attending college should submit their Renewal FAFSA

From our Shelves- March 2015 Last month we celebrated Reading Month. In this newsletter the schedule of activities went out, and I hope that you and
your family took a little extra effort to read together! In addition, I hope that you also took a little time to read something
that was completely different from your usual reading materials. Reading month was success at school! Another highlight
of reading month included a visit to the Care Center. The elementary classrooms were paired up with an upper and a lower
grade. Together they were reading buddies that shared their reading talents with the residents.
The students enjoyed working on their classroom door for the door-decorating contest. Here are a few examples:
12
The staff at Rolette Public School were kind enough to share with me what they were currently
reading. Next to the library, a bulletin board was made to display these titles for the school.
Finally, the students and staff were invited to share with me why they loved the library. These
responses were written on hearts and displayed in the library windows. There were quite a vari-
ety of unique responses.
Thank you for supporting our efforts by encouraging your child to read!
“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you
learn, the more places you'll go.” ~Dr. Seuss If you have any questions, please call the library!
