Visitation and service were on Friday, August 30. Mayor Church announced that Judy Boyer Bray, Webb Boyer’s daughter, passed away on Wednesday, August 28. Visitation was on Friday, August 30, and services were on Saturday, August 31. Doug Barry issued an all points bulletin for Joe Harrison. If anyone sees him, please invite him to a meeting! Peter Weiglin presented a Presidential Citation to Doug Barry for the Miamisburg Rotary, 1 of only 2 clubs in the district to earn it this past year. Upcoming Local Events Shon Myers announced that RiverBlast would be on Saturday, August 31, rain or shine! Jeff Nestor announced that the ThunderCruise, the combined motorcycle and car show, will take place on September 22. It has been advertised in a magazine for Ohio motorcycle enthusiasts. The Miamisburg High School football season kicks off with a game against Bellbrook on Friday, August 30. Keith Basinger announced that volunteers were still needed for the cotton candy booth sales at River Blast. Working a shift counted as a meeting make-up. Debbie McLaughlin introduced Mac Hickman. Mac has been a member of Rotary since 1987. He enjoys visiting the different Rota- ry clubs in the district, and brought a message from Rotary Interna- tional President Ron Burton: make the ask! Talk to other people in the community about Rotary, share your Rotary moments, invite people to Rotary, don’t wait for the club president or the member- ship chair or someone else to ask someone to be a member of the club. Rotary does good in the world! Mac also gave Doug Barry the Leading by Example Award for meeting the Rotary Pres- ident’s Foundation Challenge. President Burton challenged all District Governors to donate to the Rotary Foundation, and extended that challenge to all club presidents. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS? Is it the TRUTH? Is it FAIR to all concerned? Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned? General Announcements Tom Nicholas’ mother (Bob Nicholas’ grandmother) Virginia Nicholas passed away on Monday, August 26. Visitation and service were on Friday, August 30.

Debbie Posey is happy to have Dr. Tomasi on staff at Animal Medical Center and with her at the meeting.

Judy McCartney is happy about her birthday and her recent vacation.

Shon Myers had a crop dollar since the eye doctor who read today’s prayer

could actually read it and a happy dollar for going flyboarding.

Jennifer Hampton-Montavon says “Go Irish!”

Wally Sackett greeted everyone as he paid his fine for not fulfilling his greeter duties.

Joel Getts was happy that he would be going to visit his grandchildren in South Carolina.

Brent Ashcraft is happy that his daughter arrived back from France and that she went right back to Transylvania

University. He was also happy that he attended a con-ference on electronic medical records in Washington, D.C. and ran 6

miles while there. He also announced that flu shots are in at his prac-tice and can be given after September 1.

Al Scott is happy to be visiting Batavia tonight, to be visiting his grand-children in Tennessee soon, and to have had a Rotary auction item re-deemed after 7 years (Phil Callahan pointed out that that is a testimonial to our auction).

Jim Ekstrom is happy to be back from South Carolina.

Jan Runkle is happy to be celebrating her Rotary anniversary and happy that her son in Germany came for a 24 hour visit.

Doug Barry is happy that his wife finished college and that football is starting.

Debbie McLaughlin is happy to be celebrating her Rotary anniversary and her birthday.

Peter Weiglin is happy to be celebrating his anniversary.

Mac Hickman was happy to be the only attendee today greeted by Wally Sackett.
