“Aging Mastery Program for Caregivers”
BCDA is pleased to offer the National Council on Aging’s “Aging Mastery Program for Caregivers” beginning March 1, 2018 at the Pikesville Senior Center. This program, which will be facilitated by
Ellen Platt from The Option Group, will be held on Thursday evenings from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. In each of the 12 sessions, experts in the field of aging will provide guidance for participants to live longer and live well in areas such as exercise, sleep, healthy eating and hydration, financial fitness, medication management, advance planning, healthy relationships, fall prevention and community engagement. The program uses actionable goals and provides the encouragement and peer support to make long
lasting impact. It has demonstrated proved results in pilot tests around the country. As an engagement and behavior change program, AMP encourages and supports older adults to take
actions to improve their health, finances and general well-being, contribute more to their communities and society, and be more prepared for their increased longevity.
Please distribute the attached flier to your networks, give to individuals you know are caregivers, and post widely in the senior centers. The initial program is limited to 35 participants.
Participants can register for the program by calling 410-887-4724. The cost for the 12-week class is $35.
