Day 2: Victoria & Alfred Hotel, Cape Town
Day Itinerary
After breakfast, included at the hotel, you are taken to the stunning vantage point of Signal Hill, on the side of Table
Mountain. This is the best place to get 360-degree views over the city where your guide can introduce you to the
lay-out of Cape Town , its neighbourhoods, famous sites, nature attractions and history behind it all.
Signal Hill forms part of Table Mountain and is named for the cannon that still fires at noon everyday -
Capetownians' official time check. It offers picnic spots, gentle walks and the launch site for paragliding. If you are
lucky you will spot the fury Cape Dassie (Rock Hyrax) roaming around.
(Should a guest prefer to purchase a cable car ticket to ascend Table Mountain - they will be dropped off en route to
Signal Hill and can read the information boards at the top that explain much of what the guide will be teaching the
group at Signal Hill).
A stop for lunch will be made, followed by a guided exploration of Cape Town's historic and current cultural centers -
The Castle of Good Hope and the Bo Kaap.

Day 5: Kambaku @ Sea, Sedgefield
Day Itinerary
An early check-out allows you to embrace all that this scenic trip "up" the Garden Route offers.
The Garden Route is a magnificent stretch of coastline along the south-eastern shore of South Africa, extending from
Mossel Bay in the Western Cape to the Storms River in the Eastern Cape. The name comes from the verdant and
ecologically diverse vegetation encountered here. Ten nature reserves embrace the varied ecosystems of the area,
as well as unique marine reserves, home to soft coral reefs, dolphins, seals and a host of other marine life. Various
bays along the Garden Route are nurseries to the endangered Southern Right Whale which come there to calve in
the winter and spring (July to December). The coast is dotted with excellent beaches, while inland you’ll find
picturesque lagoons and lakes, rolling hills and eventually the mountains of the Outeniqua and Tsitsikamma ranges,
that divide the Garden Route from the arid Little Karoo. The ancient indigenous forests that line the coast from
Wilderness to Knysna offer adventure trails and hiking, birdwatching, canoeing on the rivers, sliding through the tree
canopy or simply taking an easy walk through the forest to gasp at the size of a yellowwood tree that's over 600
years old. Wildlife enthusiasts will enjoy spotting brilliant green and red Knysna loeries or maybe even catching sight
of one of the near-mythical elephants said to inhabit the forest.
Sedgefield
Dotting South Africa’s beautiful southern coast, the resort town of Sedgefield overlooks the mouth of the Swartvlei
lagoon on the famous Garden Route. It features long golden beaches and sand dunes that stretch off into the
distance in both directions. The town serves as a great base from which to explore the scenic surrounds, which
provides a habitat for a treasure trove of varied and beautiful bird species, many of which can be spotted from the
numerous hiking trails and bird hides in the area. Other highlights include: sampling fresh oysters, visiting the Pledge
Nature Reserve, and exploring the Red Elephant Forest Walk. Visitors can also enjoy a vast range of outdoor
activities such as swimming, kayaking, kite surfing, paragliding, horse riding, mountain biking and magnificent scenic
cycling routes. Don’t miss the wealth of fantastic farmer’s markets in the area.

Day 7: Kambaku @ Sea, Sedgefield
Day Itinerary
Today you get the rare pleasure of “living like a local” by joining the community of Sedgefield at their multiple
award-winning WILD OATS Community Farmers' Market. This small, rustic but internationally famous farmers'
market attracts the enthusiastic attention of proud locals and discerning travellers who consistently return for more
of its festive fare. It blends people from diverse backgrounds, uniting urban and rural in a mix where important
educational experiences about local food sources, nutrition, environmental awareness and agricultural issues all
blend into an unusual festive spirit of community.
Every Saturday morning throughout the year, this authentic producers’ market is brimming with the choicest locally-
produced foods. Wild Oats calls special attention to the global need for developing local food security, local skills,
local and seasonal food awareness and local community-mindfulness. Started in 1999 believe truly authentic country
markets offer a healthy community-building opportunity that stands in sharp contrast to the dominating "corporate
shopping experiences" that disengage shoppers from their local context, from seasonal produce and from producers
themselves. Fresh local foods and a beautiful country atmosphere inspire a deep pride in our local landscape and
broaden a positive sense of a community-connected.
Alongside Wild Oats Farmer’s Market is a the best art and craft market on the Garden route. The contributing factor
to the success of this market is that the majority of the stall holders have crafted their own products, which makes it
entirely unique and original. You will find original art, handmade clothing, metal work, wooden products, hand spun
wool, ceramics and many more. You will also have the opportunity to meet the real people who have used their
creative talents to produce the most unusual array of merchandise.
After the markets close in the afternoon, there is free time to enjoy a walk on the endless beach, swimming in the
sea or relaxing at the lagoon's edge.
