OPERATION TELEPHONE! Doctors will soon be able to transmit medical data direct from a patient's body to remote record·. ing instruments anywhere in the country-by telephone. It'll be

possible with special DATA-PHONE sets, now under development at the Bell Telephone Laboratories. Transmissions of x-rays and electrocardiograms by telephone have already been tested successfully. Termed a major advance in medical communications, this system means, for example, that consulting specialists in distant cities could receive instant data on a patient's heart performance-even during an actual operation.

TAKE A TURKEY with all the trimmings, add the family 'round the table, and what do you hove? A Happy Thanksgiving I But even if someone in the family can't be with you, there's one sure way to keep the day joyful. A Long Distance telephone coll, of course. It's the next best thing to being together ... spreads holiday cheer at both ends of the line. Rotes are lower all Thanksgiving Day and, on calls within Michigan, lowest after 9 p.m. when you can call any place within the state for 50 cents or less, excluding taxes.

DOWN WITH RUST! Michigan Bell has recently developed a new rustproofing method for its 4,600 trucks and cars. The new method is designed to prevent car rust caused by corrosives used on icy streets. Developed by our motor equipment maintenance people, the process uses a new pro-tective coating on metal u surfaces and is expected to save $40,000 a year in the operation of our motor fleet. It's another Michigan Bell cost-cutting technique that helps us keep the price of telephone service low.

Work has started once again on the Davisburg Post Office. I<t has been many months since anything has been done on it.

Three of the new Caddie homes, now being shown on the Dix.je Highway, are going up in Dav!sburg, two on Broadway within a few doors of each other and one on Tindall Road.

A nice arrangement of pumpkins and corn stalks in the yard of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Moore on Davisburg Road is quite seasonal and decorative.

A word af warnlng to all motorists who lea.ve the keys in their cars for just a few minutes. Don't besides being against the law, the car might just be stolen.

SuC'h was the case Monday evening when Mrs. Joe Little of Bigelow Road left her car unattended while she took gasolime to her husband in a field for his tractor. She had parked her car in a neighbor's drveiway, and during the time she took the gasoline to her husband and came back, the car was stolen.

The car was rec-overed in about an hour's time on U.S. 10. It hda been taken by three boys from Detroit.

Many of us are guilty of this infrwaction of the law. It is too bad that -something drastic . has to happen to alert ls to our own obligtaions.
