THE AESTHETICS INDUSTRY IS CHANGING

The publication of the Health Education England Report on January 8th 2016 by the UK government’s Department of Health, marks a fundamental shift in the requirement for beauty therapists and medical aesthetic practitioners to gain qualifications at Levels 4, 5, 6 and 7 if they wish to continue to offer advanced clinical skin rejuvenation treatments.

Subsequently, in the Spring of 2016, a new industry body entitled The Joint Council of Cosmetic Practitioners (JCCP) was commissioned by the UK government to represent all disciplines within the medispa sector including plastic surgeons, dermatologists, doctors nurses and beauty therapists. This is a major step forward in the recognition of aesthetic therapy as a paramedical occupation.

The JCCP has been tasked with the establishment of a register of all medical and non-medical aesthetic practitioners, including beauty therapists, who wish to provide advanced corrective skin treatments, laser and light therapies and non-surgical cosmetic procedures. To gain entry onto this register a Level 4 qualification will be required as a minimum and registration will be hugely defining of both individuals and businesses within the sector.


A COMPLETE PORTFOLIO OF AESTHETICS QUALIFICATIONSThe CIBTAC / SALLY DURANT Level 4 courses incorporate an unprecedented level of study in skin science, skin health management, cosmetic dermatology and remedial skin treatment. They are accredited by Ofqual and are aligned to the new government qualification standards within the HEE Framework and they will enable you to gain entry onto the JCCP register for Aesthetic Practitioners.

This course will provide you with the essential generic knowledge required for aesthetic practice and will give you an insight into the day to day running of a medispa clinic.

OUR METHODS OF COURSE DELIVERY

The underpinning knowledge elements of the courses (theory) are delivered by audio-visual and interactive e-learning presentations, accompanied by high quality course notes in a full colour and extensively illustrated folder. The modular format enables you to study at your own pace, scheduling your study time to suit your lifestyle and avoiding expensive time away from work, travel or hotel accommodation.

The E-learning presentations are as close to personal delivery as possible - similar to having your own personal tutor sitting beside you. You will be able to login to your e-learning account to view the modules of your course in their interactive audio visual format on

a flexible learning schedule to suit you. Each slide is fully explained with the further enhancement of information in relation to clinical practices.

As you progress through each module, you will be required to complete consolidation exercises, answer questions and complete multiple choice question exercises at the end of each module. These are marked automatically with results being delivered to you immediately. You will also be asked to complete an online workbook and take end of course multiple choice examinations.

Our International E-Learning PortalThe e-learning facility is provided through the Digital Chalk system and a full back up facility is available should there be any technical fault in order to avoid any interruptions to the online resources. The portal is easy to access via the Sally Durant website and has been specifically chosen for its ease of use and reliability. However full IT support is provided to you should you need any help.

Tutor Support And AssessmentWhile underpinning knowledge is delivered through flexible e-learning we put great emphasis in providing you with a very personal and ‘hands-on’ learning experience. Your tutors will be responsible for supporting and mentoring you throughout all elements of your course to motivate and help you. They will arrange regular one to one tutorials and mark and verify your course work as you complete it for the underpinning knowledge elements. They will also conduct assessments of your practical skills and case study completion and ensure that your portfolio is presented to the correct standard for examination.

Practical Skills Training

The practical skills training is delivered by the trained and appointed tutors of the CIBTAC School. Practical assessments will also be the tutor’s responsibility and be conducted within the practical training days while you will also be required to complete case studies and end of course practical examinations.

Having graduated from Champneys College, Tring in 1982 Sally has dedicated her career to the development and maintenance of the highest standards of education and training within the beauty therapy industry. Her extensive experience in non-medical aesthetics and the management of skin health, together with a strong commitment to establish accredited qualifications for the medispa sector , Sally has pioneered the development of advanced post graduate training programmes for all skin care therapists and clinical practitioners. She has combined her knowledge of skin science, cosmetic dermatology and remedial skin treatment with 20 years experience in formal education and training to develop a series of first to market Level 4 Qualifications and CPD short courses. These have been designed to fully bridge the skills and knowledge gap within the non-medical aesthetics industry.

Working to establish industry qualification standards at Levels 4 – 7, in line with report of the UK government body Health Education England, Sally is a member of the JCCP Working Party for Education Training and Accreditation and sits on the HABIA Steering Group for Qualification Standards within the Aesthetics Industry.

Sally has a wide portfolio of high profile corporate clients from the beauty therapy and aesthetic sectors providing bespoke training and consultancy services. Such clients include L’Oreal UK, Paris and New York, SkinCeuticals, for whom she was the appointed national training manager for 5 years, the sk:n clinic group, Nouveau Beauty Group , SAKS Hair and Beauty, Aesthetic Source, SkinBrands, Medik8, and Cryosthetics. She has also been engaged by the University of the Arts London and the University of Central Lancashire to teach on their post graduate aesthetic programmes.

Sally is a regular conference speaker on the beauty therapy and aesthetics circuit presenting on elements of advanced skin study and aesthetic practice as well as representing and presenting on behalf of key industry leaders. Over the years she has contributed editorial pieces for all of the principle beauty and aesthetics trade journals, she has acted as a CIBTAC and CIDESCO international examiner and served for two years on the CIBTAC Education Team.
