“I sat quietly in a Catholic church...Suddenly an overwhelming peace took hold of me and a joy so intense it brought tears to my eye.” ~May Kinsolving
A Family Perspective The man in today’s gospel “sold all he had” for the treasure he found. Family relationships are “treasures” and demand our total personal investment. Invest yourself in the “treasure” of
your family. ~Bud Ozar

Pastoral Care: If you or someone you know would like to receive Holy Communion at home or while in the hospital, please call Pat Piano at the Rectory, 860-232-8594. We have a team of
care givers, who are most willing to be of assistance.
RCIA: What does it mean to be a Catholic? Have you or someone you know ever asked that question? Have you ever thought about
becoming a Catholic or learning more about the Catholic faith? We welcome inquiry and are happy to meet with anyone to offer suggestions about how those questions can become reality. Call Pat Piano at 860-232-8594.
Closed Circuit TV: Occasionally, there will be times when, for some reason, (e.g., baby not consolable) we will need to leave the body of
the church. Please know that there is a closed circuit TV located in the music room of Saint Timothy School for anyone who would like to use it. You may find that space through the double doors near the Sacristy.
Attention Parents: Have you recently had a baby baptized? Has your child recently received their First Holy Communion, your teen, the Sacrament of Confirmation? Are
you aware more than ever of the awesome task of raising a child in the Catholic faith? Sometimes parents, for one reason or another, have neglected their own faith life, the life that is passed on from one generation to the next. Is it time for you to consider becoming a Catholic, or becoming more fully initiated into the Catholic Church by your reception of First Holy Communion or Confirmation? For more information, call Pat Piano, Pastoral Associate, at the Rectory, 860-232-8594.

July Monthly: No special collection in July…. Summer break! Weekly: Toiletries for Shelters, Socks for Shelters, Food for Catholic Worker House (CWH) Next Month Look Ahead: August Weekly Collections: Toiletries for Shelters, Socks for Shelters, Food for Catholic Worker House (needed even more during the summer months when schools are not providing breakfast or lunch to neighborhood kids). Catholic Worker House Weekly Donations Request: Summer is the time of year when the CWH neighborhood families need food more than ever as summer vacation means no school breakfasts or lunches for the children. Items needed are cereal, spaghetti sauce, peanut butter, macaroni & cheese, tuna fish. Shelter Weekly Donations Request: Summer is the time of year when the shelters especially need deodorants for both women and men (regular size or travel size). Please consider this need if you would like to help the homeless this summer. Laudato Si’ (LS): On Care for Our Common Home: Point to Ponder: LS 18. Change is something desirable, yet it becomes a source of anxiety when it causes harm to the world and to the quality of life of much of humanity. What You Can Do: Carefully consider the purchases you make and the impact that their waste will have on the environment and humanity. Consider whether or not the manufacturer or store has a way to safely dispose of product waste. Did you know that paint recycling has been available in CT since 2013? To find out more about properly disposing of your unused latex and oil-based paints and stains in Connecticut, check out www.paintcare.org.

ATTENTION: All Youth and Young Adults
(ages 16—29)
Many dioceses throughout the world are preparing for the 2018 Synod of Bishops. In preparation for the 2018 Synod on Young People, the Faith and Vocational Discernment, the Archdiocese of Hartford is requesting that all parishes and schools encourage their young people (ages 16-29) to fill out (Deadline is July 31
st) the Archdiocesan Survey for
Young People at: https://oeec.typeform.com/to/qPt9f0 This survey will help Archbishop Blair develop his report
on the youth of the Archdiocese of Hartford for that
Synod. More importantly, this survey will be beneficial
for the Archdiocese, as it strives to hear and respond to
the voice of our youth and young adults, who will have
the chance to express their thoughts and concerns
about their faith and values. Our goal is to reach as
many young people in the Archdiocese as possible, so
feel free to forward this survey link widely.
