A. The Beginning of the Children’s Age and the End of the 40-Year

Wilderness Course (1981~1985)

1. Blessings

1983.03.01 --- Commencement of the 3-year course

The 3 years from 1983 to 1985 were the last opportunity in which to indemnify everything that

had not yet been accomplished in those 40 years.

2. The 3-Year Course Concluding the 40-Year Wilderness Course

1983.04.03 --- Father gave the speech “Total Indemnity.”

1983.09.01 --- The Soviet Air Force shot down a KAL airliner, killing 269 passengers.

3. IFVOC Rally in Korea

1983.12.14-23 --- IFVOC Rally was held in 8 cities in Korea

1983.10.09 --- 16 Korean congressmen, including four Cabinet ministers, were

assassinated by North Koreans. (Rangoon, Burma)

1983.12.23 --- Last IFVOC Rally at Kwangju

In spite of strong warnings by spiritualists not to go to Kwangju, Father determined to go to the last rally.Just at the time Father stood on the podium, Heung-jin Nim had a traffic accident in America (12.22).

4. Heung-jin Nim’s Sacrifice

1983.12.31 --- Unification Ceremony

Father prayed, “Please let God’s Will be advanced through Heung-jin’s sacrifice.

Please let everything become united.”

Father gave Heung-jin Nim as an offering to Heaven.

Father did not pray to save his life.

1984.01.02 1:15 a.m. --- Heung-jin Nim’s ascension to Heaven

1984.01.03 --- Proclamation of the “Day of Victory of Love”

Love overcame death.

Love transcended the sphere of death and the sphere of indirect dominion, where the

condition for Satan’s invasion remained.

5. The Day of Victory of Love

- For the sake of True Parents, Heung-jin Nim kept an absolute standard of loyalty and filial piety.

- For the sake of his friends, as representatives of all humanity, he sacrificed himself, establishing the standard of true love.

a. Heung-jin Nim Overcame the Fear of Death

Heung-jin Nim was sent to the spirit world as an “ambassador plenipotentiary” (absolute authority) representing Father, and not because of the disunity of members with Father.

This established the absolute standard of heart and love. Father’s primary concern was the offering of his beloved son for the sake of God and humanity.

b. True Parents Overcame the Sorrow of Death

1984.01.08 --- The World Seung Hwa Ceremony of Heung-jin Nim

1981.10.15 --- Father was indicted by the US government on charges of tax evasion.

6. The Day of the Love of God

1982.05.18 --- A New York Federal

Court pronounced Father “guilty” of tax evasion charges.

1984.05.14 --- The U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear Father’s appeal.

1984.05.14-16 --- Corresponding to Jesus’ 3-day period in the tomb

1984.05.16 --- Establishment of the Day of the Love of God

1984.05.20 --- Proclamation of the Day of the Love of God

Initiation of the “Il Jeung (One Heart) Prayer” and “Il Jeung Fund”

1984.05.30 --- Rally for Religious Freedom in Washington, D.C.

The Common Suffering Movement started.

After that rallies were held in New York, Tokyo and Seoul.

1984.06.26 --- Father presented his statement at the public hearing on religious

freedom.

1984.07.25 --- Common Suffering Fellowship

1984.07.20 --- Father and Mr. Kamiyama entered prison in Danbury, Connecticut.

7. Sixth Imprisonment

1985.02.01 --- Proclamation of the “Day of Opening of Heaven”

This was the ceremony to build the “highway of light from hell to the Heavenly Kingdom.”

Father loved the prisoners as if they were his own children.

1985.07.04 --- Father moved from the prison to a halfway house in New York.

1985.08.20 --- Father was released from the halfway house.

1,700 clergy from over 60 denominationswelcomed Father.Unification Church and Christianity united.

the 40-year wilderness course

8. The Day of Total Victory

1981.11.10 --- Father proposed the construction of the International Highway.
