Mr. Aguilera will discuss the global energy picture as well as recent developments in the upstream industry, such as the sudden accessibility of unconventional resources, and their implications. ABOUT Carlos Aguilera Carlos Aguilera is vice president and general manager of business development for the Chevron Africa and Latin America Exploration and Production Co., based in Houston. He joined Chevron in 1979, and has had assignments in Angola, Bahrain, China, Mexico, the North Sea, Papua New Guinea, the former Soviet Union, the United Kingdom and Venezuela. In addition to his years of experience managing exploration, production and business development organizations within Chevron, Aguileraís operational responsibilities have included pipeline gas, liquefied natural gas supply, exploration, new ventures, major capital projects and new country entry negotiations. His most recent achievements include leading Chevronís new country entry efforts in Liberia, Suriname, Sierra Leone, Morocco, South Africa and Argentina. Aguilera earned a B.S. in geology from Louisiana State University in 1979, and an M.B.A. in business administration from MI T in 1999. In 2009, he received the Award for Executive Excellence from the Hispanic Engineer National Achievement Award Conference for his professional achievements and contributions to the Hispanic community.
