HOW TO MAKE AN ENTRY

Exhibitors can use Entry forms enclosed along with this show schedule or the same can be downloaded from www.chennaicanineclub.com. Photo copies of entry forms are equally acceptable.

Fill entry form in Block Letters or type

These are FCI - APAC shows, So definitely check the group and class that your dogs come under before filling up the forms. This is printed in detail elsewhere in this show schedule.

The photo copy of the KCI registration certificate (both sides) / FCI-NO Registration certificate (for foreign exhibitors) must accompany the entry of each dog. The entry will be rejected if this is not complied, all awards such as National / Intl. Champion, Section / World Winners, will be entered as per the details given in the registration certificate alone.

Use separate form for different exhibits, even if it belongs to same owner.

Only one entry form is enough for participating in all three shows.

Entry forms must be signed by the owner of the exhibit only.

The Chennai Canine Club will not be responsible for entries lost in postal transit. Exhibitors are therefore requested to send in their entries at the earliest by registered post or courier.

Send in your entry form & fee, as soon as possible, do not wait till the last date. Definitely, entries will not be taken after 25th Oct. 2015.

ELIGIBILITY

VET-EXAMINATION

MICROCHIP / TATTOO

Only dogs registered with the Kennel Club of India may compete.Dogs being entered from overseas and if their club is a member of the FCI, then they are entitled to enter their dogs with the registration number issued by their national club.

CRYPTORCHID AND MONORCHID DOGS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO COMPETE IN THESE SHOWS.

All dogs must be passed by the Honorary Veterinary Surgeon, Present at the gate and be certified fit by him/her before admission. The veterinary certificate should be produced whenever required.

All KCI Registered exhibits must have a machine readable microchip and foreign exhibits must either have a machine readable microchip or a legible tattoo at the time of examination.

All exhibits will be scanned in the vet check / show ring/ waiting ring. Exhibits found without/mismatch of microchip will be denied their awards.

Chennai Canine Club will provide an ISO-standard microchip reader. The exhibitor including the overseas exhibitor will have to bring his/her own scanner if his/her exhibit is fitted with a different standard microchip.

ASIA PACIFIC CHAMPION (APAC CC)

This will be awarded only at the Kennel Club of India's Second APAC Show scheduled to be held on8th Nov. 2015 Sunday.

CHALLENGE CERTIFICATE (CC)

The CC or CAC (Certificate d' Aptitude au Championnat) is a national grading. The CAC counts towards a national champion title. Challenge and Reserve Challenge Certificates (C.Cs & Res. C.Cs) will be awarded at all the three Breeds Shows, including the APAC show.

BEST OF BREED (BOB) AND BEST OF OPPOSITE SEX (BOS)

All Class winner from both sexes, if awarded excellent, will compete for best of breed (BOB). The judge will also choose the best exhibit from the opposite sex (BOS) next to the BOB winner.Attractive prizes befitting the occasion will also be awarded to the winners.

PLEASE NOTE• Dogs with cropped ears are NOT ELIGIBLE to compete at any Kennel Club – UK licensed events.• All overseas exhibitors who want to compete in any dog show (including CRUFTS) in the UK must apply for an Authority to Compete (ATC) registration number from the Kennel Club. The ATC number must be used on all entry forms, and will include a reference to the dog's country of residence.

IMPORTANT NOTICE FROMCHENNAI CANINE CLUB FOR EXHIBITORS

Sick (temporarily ill of suffering from a contagious illness) or Lame dogs or those males which show atrophy of the testicles and bitches which are lactating or which are accompanied by their puppies will be excluded from the dog show. Bitches on heat are allowed to participate. Blind or deaf dogs are not eligible to participate at the show. However, Should this ruling not be observed and a judge discovers that a dog is deaf or blind, he/she has to send the dog out of

the ring. Dogs with docked tails or cropped ears will be admitted to the show. Dogs which are not in the catalogue cannot be judged unless the problem is clerical/printing error, which the organising committee is responsible.

As per the KCI directive double handling is strictly prohibited.Such of those who resort to double handle inspite of this, will automatically entitle the exhibit and the exhibitor to be sent out, after a preliminary warning.

It is forbidden to treat the coat, skin or nose with anything that alters the structure, colour or form. It is forbidden to prepare the dog in the show ground with any substances or equipment which harms the exhibit. Only combing and brushing are allowed. It is also forbidden to Leave the dog tied up on the trimming table longer than necessary for preparation.

Exhibitors / handlers are hereby warned that any one found to argue or use abusive language against Judge, Ring Steward, Co-exhibitor or any official of the show are Liable to face a ban/suspension.

Smoking and drinking in public is an offence, Since is an Indoor A/C venue, any one found smoking or drinking at the show grounds will be handed over to the police.

The Show Committee reserves the right to nominate a new judge/judges in the event of any of the mentioned judges not being able to fulfil their obligation and should there be more entries than expected in any group, the show Committee reserves the right to allot a breed or breeds to any other judges in the panel in

order to finish the show on time. The show committee reserves the right to change the order of judging with prior announcement at any time during the show, if required. Hence exhibitors should bench their dogs on time. Dogs would be judged simultaneously in four separate rings and the final order of judging would be notified later. Exhibitors are hence requested to have sufficient number of handlers should they have more than one breed and also bench their dogs close to the rings where they are being judged.

This being an International show exhibitors are requested to note that exhibit numbers will not be called over the public address system and hence they will have to follow the show catalogue and judging order and be present in the ring on their own. The Club shall not be held responsible if exhibitors are not present in the ring when their class is being judged. Exhibitors are requested to dress themselves suitably. It is advised that exhibitors must wear shoes when they are handling their dogs.

Exhibitors / handlers are hereby warned that any one found drinking or drunk inside the show ground or while handling the exhibit in the show ring will be handed over the police and the same will be reported to the KCI. Such persons are liable to be suspended from KCI activities for a minimum period of two years and shall also be fined Rs.2000/-

According to the KCI Directive it is forbidden to wear T-shirts/Caps containing kennel name/logo and usage of mobile phone while exhibiting their dogs.

Exhibitors may note that the dog show is being held in a Indoor A/C Hall and the Chennai Canine Club (CCC) will not be responsible for vagaries of the weather. Should the show get cancelled/stopped owing to reasons beyond our control, such as excessive rain or other unforseen circumstances such as public strike, vandalism, etc., The

CCC/KCI will not hold itself responsible and will not refund the entry fee to any exhibitor or for any financial damages or otherwise the exhibitor may have suffered in the process.

The CCC/KCI will not be in anyway responsible for any injuries or death of an exhibit/its handler or servants during the show or later.

ENFORCEMENT & AMENDMENT OF RULES

The decision of the Show Committee is final subject only to appeal to the KCI. Should question arise which are not provided for in the rules the Committee's decisions will be final. Any breach of the Rules and /or FCI - APAC / KCI Regulations will render the exhibitor liable to disciplinary action by the Committee. Exhibitors are also liable for any damage done by them or their servants or their dogs. The Committee, Reserves the right to refuse or accept any entry without assigning any reason whatsoever.

Any wilful misrepresentation regarding ownership, age, name, pedigree, etc. of dogs entered and / or prepared for exhibition in contravention of the KCI Regulations, will be liable for disciplinary action/penalty by the Committee.

Objections will be decided by the K. C. I Committee in accordance with KCl/FCI Regulations. The objection fee is Rs. 2000/- returnable in if the objection is upheld by the K.C. I Committee and forfeited if the objection is rejected.

WORKING CLASSTo enter a dog in working class, the entry form must be accompanied by a copy of the FCI compulsory certificate containing the confirmation - by the member country in which the holder and / or owner has his permanent place of residence that the dog has passed the test as well as the details about this test. It must be ensured that the result of this working test is valid in accordance with FCI regulations.

CHAMPION CLASSTo enter a dog in Champion Class, one of the following titles must have been confirmed by the day of the official. dosing date of entries; proof of this, by copy, must be enclosed with the entry form. International Champion of the FCI OR National Champion (this title must have been earned in the same FCI member country with at least 2 awards). National. Champion from countries which are not members of the FCI, But has signed a letter of understanding with FCI will be recognized.

*Exhibitors are cautioned that an entry in the wrong class for breed will automatically disqualify the exhibit.

*Age is calculated as on 08.11.2015.

QUALIFICATIONS AND PLACINGS

EXCELLENTMay only be awarded to a dog which comes very close to the ideal standard of the breed, which is presented in excellent condition, displays harmonious, well-balanced temperament, is of high class and excellent posture. Its superior characteristics in respect of its breed permit that minor imperfections can be ignored; it must however have the typical features of its sex.

VERY GOODMay only be awarded to a dog which possesses the typical features of its breed, which has well-balanced proportions and is in correct condition.A few minor faults may be tolerated. This ward can only be granted to to a dog that shows class.

GOODIs to be awarded to a dog that possesses the main features of its breed.The good points should outweigh the falls, so that the dog can be considered a good representative of its breed.

SUFFICIENTMust be awarded to a dog which corresponds adequately to its breed, without possessing the generally accepted characteristics or whose physical condition leaves a lot to be desired.

DISQUALIFIEDMust be awarded to a dog which does not correspond to the type required by the breed standard; which shows a behavior clearly not in line with its standard or which behaves aggressively; which has testicular abnormalities; which has dental flaw or a jaw anomaly; which shows a colour and/or coat imperfection or clearly shows signs of albinism.This qualification shall also be awarded to dogs that correspond so little to a single feature of the breed that their health is threatened. It should furthermore be awarded to dogs that show disqualifying faults in regard to the breed standard.

The qualifications given by the judges would correspond to the following definitions:

CANNOT BE JUDGEDThis rating is to be given to any which does not move,which is lame,constantly jumps up and down on its handler or tries to get out of the ring, Makes it impossible to assess the gait and the movement or avoids constantly to be examined by the judge and makes it impossible to inspect teeth, anatomy and structure, tail or test testicles. This rating is also to be given if traces of operations or treatment can be observed which seem to indicate that the exhibitor wanted to deceive judge.

The same applies if the judge has ample reason to supect operations that were intended to correct the orginal condition or feature (e.g.: eyelid, ear or tail).The reason why the dog was rated “CANNOT BE JUDGED” has to be stated in the judge's report.

The four best dogs in each class are placed provided that they have been awarded atleast the qualification "Very Good"

HOTEL ACCOMMODATION FOR OUTSTATION EXHIBITORS

Dogs that cannot be awarded one of the above qualifications shall be released from the ring with the rating:

JUNIOR HANDLING COMPETITIONThere would also be a Junior Handling Competition in the Show. Those wishing to participate must be in the age group of 12 to 16 proof of which should be sent along with the entry form for Junior Handlers. The Junior handler should be in a position to handle his/her own dog and also a different dog that would be given to them at the show grounds.

JUDGE - Mr. AUGUSTO BENEDICTIO SANTOS III - Philippines

More familiarly known as “Dinky” amongst his peers, he was born in 1967 to a family of ‘Animal Lovers’. Dinky has been showing dogs since an early age, he and his siblings often accompanying their Father to the dog shows. Together with his family. He was involved with German Shorthaired Pointers, Bull Terriers, and German Sheperd Dogs before personally getting engrosed with the Labrador Retriever in 1988.

Dinky’s SUNSHADOW LABRADOR RETRIEVERS is on of the main forces behind the success of the Philipine Labrador Retriever today. He owned PCCI’s #1 DOG

for 1996,#5 for 1995 and #3 for 1997. He has owned and breed more than 130 Champions at least 70 of which are homebred. He also owned the #1 All-Breed “Site of Champions” in the Philipines who as of this writing, has sired fortysix (46) Champions a number yet to to be surpassed. He is presently involved with German Shepherd Dogs that he shows both in Germany & the Philippines.

Dinky is also very much involved with Horses - a known SANTOS tradition. He was a member of the Philippine Equestrian Team and is, presently, one of the Philippines leading Polo Players. He is also involved with thorough beed horse racing and has owned many Champions through the years. Dinky was awarded the distinction “Life Member” of the PCCL in 2005. He was the founding President of The Labrador Retriever Club Incorporated (LRCI) back in 1994. He is a full Member of the prestigious Labrador Retriever Club (UK) and was bestowed “Honorary Life Member” of the Kennel Club of Pakistan.

He has been a Phillppine delegate to the Asia Kennel Union Conferences in 2006, 2008, 2010 & 2012, Federation Cynologique International General Assembles held in 2007, 2009 & 2011; FCI Asia the Pacific Section Conferences in 2006, 2008, 2010 & 2012. He was the FCI observer for the FCI Asia and the Pacific Section Shows in 2009 & 2011. He was also a member of the FCI TASK FORCE that was formed in Bratislava. He is presently a member of the General Committee of the FCI & Chairman of the FCI - APAC section.

Dinky has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Phillippine Canine Club Since 2003. He has held the positions of Assistant Corporate Secretary (2003-2005). Corporate Secretary (2005) PRESIDENT and CHAIRMAN simultaneously (2005-2008) and CHAIRMAN (2008-2010). He is presently the PRESIDENT & CHAIRMAN of the Philippine Canine Club.

He has judged in all continent & has judged at Several Section, European and World Dog Shows.

JUDGE - Mr. FRANKIE LEUNG - Hong Kong

I have been involved in dogs all my life. I have exhibited pedigree dogs

since 1976, starting first as a very young lad with my Shar Pei.

Over the years since, I have exhibited Pomeranian, Min Poodle, Kerry Blue

Terrier,Fox Terrier (Wire), Shih Tzu & Shar Pei.

I started international judging in the U.K. in October 1993. Thereafter I have

been invited to judge a number of shows in England including the Manchester Champ. Show in 1996,

Trent to Tweed Poodle Club Specialty 1995 ( Min Poodle & BIS ), Darlington Champ Show in 1998,

Russian Black Terrier Club Show 2005, Trent to Tweed Poodle Club Specialty 2005 ( Toy Poodle ) & Min

Pincher Club of Great Britain Specialty 2010. I also enjoyed tremendously when judging in Taiwan,

Ireland, Latvia, Estonia, Russia, India, Pakistan, South Africa, Indonesia, Korean, Thailand, Singapore,

Philippine, Japan, Canada, Poland, New Zealand, Slovenia, Israel, Mexico, Columbia and Australia

which gained me the priceless chances to meet with different people and different cultures.

I have been passed by the Hong Kong Kennel Club to judge all breeds since 2006. I am also appointed

by the Club to be the Chairman of the Judges Committee. In 2013, I was elected as the Treasurer of FCI

Asia Pacific Section.

JUDGE - Mr. GOPI KRISHNAN - Malaysia

Studying in the UK for nine years afforded Gopi the opportunity to attend

dog show every weekend and the many hours spent ringside, showing

visiting top kennels and breeders helped foster Gopi’s love and interest in

the Dachshund.

Together with his brother Robbie, the HACIENDA prefix was registered in

1994 and their first litter registered in 1999. In 2008, Gopi married

Christine and since then she has also been part of the Hacienda prefix. Focused on getting the best

lines, they have imported dogs from the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Finland & South Africa.

Hacienda have successfully owned, co-owned, campaigned (owner exhibited) and titled 127

Champions, 83 are proudly homebred HACIENDA Champions, both locally and overseas, in Australia,

England, Ireland, USA, Canada, Brazil, Luxembourg, New Zealand, South Africa, Japan, Russia,

Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, the Philippines and Thailand. Several of these homebred Champions are

proudly Multiple All breeds Best in Show Winners overseas and Grand Champions.

Gopi is involved in the IT line, and is the CEO of full service IT company in Malaysia, Gopi’s love of

animals and his interest in the promotion of responsible ownership and led to his involvement with

PAWS Animal Welfare Society which he served as in the capacity of President for 6 years and which he

currently serves as Secretary.

Gopi joined the MKA judges training scheme in the late 1990’s and started judging in 2004. Since then

he has had the privilege to judge in Malaysia, the Philippines, UK, Australia and New Zealand. Gopi is

currently licensed to Judge all FCI breeds.

He set up the “Bansen” Kennel in 1998. Since then, he has championed many Dobermans including

the No. 1 Doberman in Taiwan in 2005, 2006, 2007, and in mainland China in 2006. He also involved

with the breeding of Maltese, Miniature Schnauzer and Toy Poodle. Being successful as a professional

handler, he has retained 800 more BIS, R-BIS and BISS awards, and handled more than 80 champion

dogs. Among them are breed ranking No.1 French Bulldog, Bull Dog, Poodle, Bichon Frise, Golden

Retriever, Labrador Retriever, Shetland Sheepdog, Maltese, Irish Setter, Doberman, Boxer, Siberian

Husky, Bernese Mountain Dog, etc.

Judging Career:

He was approved as Multi-breed Judge in 2007, and retained KCT all-breed judge license in 2014.

Qualified as KCT Approved Handler in Master-Grade, and was appointed as KCT Handling Committee

member since 2007. He has judged at many handling competition and championship dog show in

Taiwan. Since 2015, He has judged international dog shows in China and Philippines.
