The Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture & Technology, Kanpur is one of the leading Agricultural University in north India. It has been serving the nation since last 110 years through its research, education and technology to farmers, spread over 22 districts of Uttar Pradesh. The university has a long history of significant research contribution made by well established facilities of significant research sections, regional stations and research farms and developed more than 285 varieties in cereals, oilseeds, pulses, vegetables and important other crops. Centre for Advanced Agricultural Science & Technology CAAST-NC, is a new initative and student centric sub component of word Bank sponsored Education, Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi. The Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture & Technology is one of the Universities to selected for the implementation of CAAST-NC Project. Word Bank and Government of India, implemented at the education Division, ICAR New Delhi, Overall, The project aims to develop resources and student advancement and providing means for better governance and management of agricultural universities. India's diverse climate ensures availability of all varieties of fresh fruits and vegetables. It ranks second in fruits and vegetable production in the world after China. India is the world largest producer of many fruits and vegetables. India produced around 81.285 MT fruits and 162.187 MT of vegetables which accounts for nearly 14% of country's share in the world production of vegetables. The need of entrepreneurship for vegetable innovative technologies to improve packaging of fresh and processed vegetable will help better nutrition in quality and enhance shelf life. Value addition and processing of vegetable products through the entrepreneurship such as dehydration, canning to increase quality of the products available in off season. The Kanpur is located at all distance of 90 km from Lucknow, The capital of Uttar Pradesh. Weather at Kanpur during training period will be pleasant and temperature o range will be 26-34 C. Role of enterprises in food and nutritional security The Faculty members from DFRL, Karnataka SIFPT (State Institute of Food Processing and Technology), Lucknow/ Academician / Other Universities and organizations will be invited to deliver lectures on the various topics to cover entire spectrum on the Training “Enterprises Development using value addition of Vegetable”. M.Sc. & Ph.D students/faculty in Food Science & Nutrition/ Horticulture/ Vegetable Science/ Biochemistry/Food technology/ Extension Registration and nomination should be done by HOD/Dean/indicating their enrolment in respective university. Accommodation in hostels and guest house will be made available on request in advance.
