Shrine Stewardship & GIVING

If the Shrine has touched your life, pray about remembering us with a gift in your estate or will.

The 2013 Archbishop’s Annual Appeal funds the essential ministries of our archdiocese—ministries that, in many cases, are of service to our parish. For example, Archbishop’s Annual Appeal gifts support seminarian education, priests’ continuing education, parish school of religion, child and youth protection, etc.

This year, the theme of the Appeal is, “The greatest of these is love.” Your financial support for the work of our parish, and of our archdiocese and the world is, in fact, one way to share your love with your community.

After we reach our parish annual Appeal goal of $40,333, the archdiocese returns 100% of each additional dollar received from our parishioners to the parish. This year, we will commit our parish rebates to the Parish Hall Loan to the Archdiocese.

Our Collection for last Sunday was $ 10,028.56. To meet our ministry commitments, we need $ 8,709.72. Thank you for your generosity.

Our Door Collection next Sunday is for the Parish St. Vincent de Paul Society. Please be generous.

HELP WELCOME GUESTS AS AN USHER. If you would like to help with this important ministry, please contact Joe Agostini at 404.786.0165 or email him at [email protected].

Shrine Director of Music, Dónal Noonan, led our first Taizé prayer service. Several Shrine members re-laxed in the subdued musical prayer time and gave them-selves over to an hour of reflection.

The Shrine congratulates our own Jackie Stephenson who has been named a President’s Volunteer Service Award winner. This prestigious nation-al honor recognizes her exemplary vol-unteer service in the community. On behalf of the President of the United States, the Presi-dent’s Council on Service and Civic Participation issues this honor in recognition of sustained community service over the past year. The award serves to encourage every American to improve their communities through volun-teer service and through civic participation.
