The Career and Technology Center
Our mission is to help all students be successful in both their career and continued education.
What is CTC?
• Focuses on academics including literacy, math and science applied to CTC career areas.
• All instruction is centered on one particular area or program of study.
• High expectations for all students
- Professional learning and work ethic skills (21st Century Skills)
• We are preparing students to be successful as they graduate and advance to post secondary education or an immediate career opportunity.

Policies
Attendance, Attendance, Attendance! ATTENDANCE EQUALS SUCCESS!!!
Students are expected to meet 94% or better attendance All absences are … absences!
with the exception of school related activities
•If a student misses more than 10 days they may be removed or placed on a probationary contract.
•Students are expected to attend CTC according to the CTC Calendar provided not their sending school calendar.
•Students are counted absent if CTC is in session and the sending school is not in session if a bus is provided. A bus is provided from sending schools in most cases with only a few exceptions when CTC has school and other sending schools do not. If a bus is not provided, sending school students are not counted absent.

4:30 or by appointment • Parents must call CTC within 48 hours of
absence 650-7189 TFT will only be applied to parent called in absences.

Student Driving Procedures • Buses are provided for CTC students.
• Occasions occur when a student may need to drive (school events, doctors appointments, work on cars, etc.) You must apply for a pre-arranged driving pass.
• If a student misses the bus, the parent/guardian needs to contact the sending school administration or student needs to see sending school administrator prior to driving to CTC.
DO NOT DRIVE TO CTC WITHOUT GETTING PROPER APPROVAL

• Students requesting prior approval to drive must
– Be in good standing in regards to grades, attendance and discipline – this is a privilege.
– Select dates or opportunities throughout the school year. – Complete a driving pass (even for Fort Osage Students)
• Students cannot bring another student in their vehicle without permission from all parents, sending school administration and CTC administration
• Consequences include suspension and loss of driving privileges for period of time or remainder of the year.

Dress Expectations • Hats may be worn before the tardy bell and after the dismissal bell
only.
• Clothing should cover the body so that it is not considered a distraction or severely inappropriate.
• Clothing should be worn so that all undergarments are not visible.
• Proper footwear must be worn in designated areas and may be at the discretion of the instructor.
• An unprofessional or inappropriate appearance may affect the individual’s performance or others around them.

Electronic Devices
May be used in certain areas and time slots
• Before tardy bell and after dismissal bell these devices may be used
• During Break while in break area or other common areas
• Electronic devices must be put away while in class.
• Headphones may be worn in hallway, break area and in classroom when situation and instructor allow.
