65 YEARS AGOThe YWCA moved into a new home in September 1951, and The Canton Repository called it a “Dream Come True.” “For nearly a quarter of a century, the association has been making plans for a building that would meet the demands of its program in Canton for years to come,” said the Repository.

100 YEARS AGOEnsign Herman Spanagel of the battleship South Carolina recently received the letter “E” for his crew in target practice on board ship, with 55 men proving to be excellent shots.
