I love this song because of the lifetime of love it talks about. When we love someone the things we do for them don’t seem like work but pleasure. I’m sure all of us have done something for the one we love. Remember how good it made you feel when you did that act of service for the one you love? Jesus tells us in John 15:13 “Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.” Our love is at its greatest when we sacrifice ourselves for our friends. Now I am not suggesting that we all go out and do something rash. I am suggesting that we do something radical, something unusual and something out of the ordinary. Our love for our friends and the world should be so radical that it will get the attention of others. When we love others radically people will be attracted to that love. Why love radically? Why sacrifice? Why should we lay down our lives? The reason in my mind is simple. Our loving others radically is in response to the radical love that Jesus showed us on the cross. Not only at the cross but just taking on human form was a sacrifice. We sometimes forget Jesus left a place that hunger, thirst, pain, or even being hot or cold existed. Jesus, in his spiritual form, was limitless and He chose to put physical limits on Himself. He did this because of His love for us. Yes, it was love that motivated Jesus to do all the things that He did for us. How can we repay that love? We need to share what God has given us with others. Using Jesus as our example on how to love, we need to love others the way He did. We have a duty to meet the needs of others; their emotional, physical, and spiritual needs. Our challenge is to love others as much as Jesus loves us. Let’s go and love radically! Pastor Alan “The Caller”

Love at work

There is a song called “He was walking her home,” by Mark Schultz and it tells a story of a man’s love for his wife. He remembers their first date, the birth of their first child, and the story goes to her last moments. All through her life he was there walking her home.

KIDS CLUB Greetings, Over the past few weeks Kids Club has been working on a new lesson plan called “Friends and Heroes.” Throughout the lesson the kids are learning stories from the Bible and we are discussing how those stories apply to our lives. We start all of our meetings with activity time such as kickball or basketball. We look forward to nicer weather so we can spend some time outside. All of our meetings are closed in prayer by the kids. We have a prayer request board and a thankful prayer board. Currently we have a waiting list for kids who want to do close us with prayer which is awesome. We currently have 16 kids signed up for Kids Club and we opened up the age group for grades kindergarten through 5th grade. Every week we have a show and tell time that's open to everyone. This month we have seen lots of cool toys, baby guinea pigs, banks made of post office boxes, and a tool used to make homemade yarn from wool. We also started taking part in the Bible reading plan. The kids are drawing pictures of what the scriptures mean to them and we are posting the pictures on the bulletin board downstairs, so be sure to check it out. Teresa and I are very grateful for the opportunity to spend a few hours each week with these kids. As always if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me. My email address is [email protected] and my cell is 301-524-7728.

With Blessing, Chris and Teresa Mohler
