The Spanish Bioindustry Association (ASEBIO) and theSociety for Competitive

Transformation (SPRI), an agencyof the Basque regional govern-ment's Department of Industry, Innovation, Trade and Tourism,signed an agreement in November 2011 to hold the sixthedition of the biennial BioSpainevent in Bilbao.

Since its first edition, launchedback in the year 2003, it hasbecome one of the leadingbiotechnology events in Europe.

In its 5th edition (2010), held in Pamplona (Navarre, Spain), Biospain attracted over 1.300 delegates, 650 companies from25 countries, featured 168 exhibitors and over 2.100 one-to-one partnering meetingswere held, becoming the 7thlargest biotech partnering eventorganized in 2010.

BIOSPAIN 2012 is part of the official calendar of trade exhibitions supported by the Spanish Secretary of State forTrade.
