605.7)? Throughout this conference year, as district superintendents we have encountered instances where clergy life and official administration have been addressed. We have done our supervisory work, to the best of our ability and with the grace of God. We have had individual conversations; and at times, we have called on consultants to work with us. In some instances, we partnered with one another so that two superintendents or a superintendent and Bishop Devadhar were present in the process. We have taken actions throughout the year with the hope of strengthening pastoral effectiveness in specific appointments. We done our work and made our decisions after much prayer in close conversation with our bishop and one another and in consultation with pastors and staff parish relationship committees. We are at peace with our work and the decisions made. With this statement and being fully aware that “God’s grace is sufficient for us…” 2 Corinthians 12:9 We confess we are not perfect and answer YES to this question. Because of Christ, we are blameless in our lives and official administration. 18. Who constitute:

80. What other personal notations should be made? (Include such matters as changes in pension credit (¶1506.5),

corrections or additions to matters reported in the "Business of the Annual Conference" form in previous years, and legal name changes of clergy members and diaconal ministers.)

a) Name Changes:

Kate L. LaCroix (PL) has changed her last name from “LaCroix” to “Galop”. Effie E. McClain (FE) has changed her last name from “McClain” to “McAvoy” Hannah K. Rogers (PE) has changed her last name from “Rogers” to “Sotak”.

b) Name Corrections:

In past years, Hakyung C. Kim (FE) may have been referred to as Ha-kyung Cho-Kim or Hakyung Cho-Kim.

In the Q25 of the 2017 BAC, Holly Tomilson’s last name was misspelled as “Tomlinson”.

c) Church Name Change: The former Puffer United Methodist Church (VT) has changed its name to “The United Community Church of Morrisville, Vermont” (VT).

d) In Q21b of this BAC (2018), Michele Ashley is listed as a Local Pastor without ever having been listed as a Certified Candidate on the BAC in this annual conference because she must continue her certified candidacy in her home conference (Episcopal requirement). She is licensed in this Conference for a 1-year term.

e) Corrections for the 2017 BAC:

1. In Q21b Lorraine Foster (PL) was correctly listed as PL, but Q19a should have listed her as a Certified Candidate (recent transfer from Eastern PA AC).

2. On Q14f (4) the wrong GCFA number for the Chelsea West Hill UMC in the Vermont District was included. The correct number is 43566.

3. On Q20 Joseph Choon’s district was incorrect. It should have been “CWM”.

BUSINESS OF THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE

139

4. On Q21a Laurie Percival Pauley should have been listed as a full-time LP in RIM district.

5. In Q76a Andrew L. Foster, III was not listed as District Superintendent of the RIM district.

6. In Q50 Sydney Pierce’s personal leave was erroneously listed as beginning in 2004, however, it

was in 2017.

7. In Q57 of the 2017 BAC, the number of retired elders should have been 409, also reducing the total number of elders and all clergy members by 19 each.

f) In Q57 of the 2016 and 2015 BACs, the number of retired elders should have been 406 and 399,

respectively. Note this would alter the total numbers of elders and clergy members reported in the same tables.

g) According to the General Minutes, Rev. William Alberts retired from the Southern New England Conference in 1973 and then surrendered his credentials in 1974 to unite with another denomination. He was incorrectly listed in the journals ever since as having retired in 1973.

h) The following appointment has been incorrectly listed in the 2013-2017 journals as having ended.

However, Wesley Williams (RE) was appointed 1/4 time at Cuttyhunk, MA (RIM) from 2013 to present.

i) The following appointments were mistakenly left out of previous BACs: Sylvanus Jackson (RE) 7/1/2015 to unappointed (NME), leaving Atkinson & Dover-Foxcroft, ME (CP).

Nami Yu (was PL, now PE), 07/01/2016, to Leyden, MA (CWM) 26%, from unappointed

j) In Q19 of the 2012 BAC, Michael Nilon was listed as having transferred Certified Candidacy to NC AC. However, this transfer never took place, thus, his certified candidacy failed to be continued in this conference since 2013.

k) BACs from 2014-2017 failed to list Alan Murdock (TRI) as a Certified Lay Minister. 81. Where and when shall the next Conference Session be held (¶603.2, 3)?
