Bushcraft Event Joining Instructions August 08 th - 11 th 2011 The Bushcraft campsite is near Buckland Filliegh - Grid reference (475,093) Welcome to Regional Foster Placements and Bear Tracks, Bushcraft Event 2011. We are thrilled that you have chosen to come on this adventure and pitch your skills against the great outdoors. Here is some important information for you and your carers. Timings Arrival point 08 th August 2011 between 1200hrs – 1230hrs Departure point 11 th August 2011 between 1300hrs – 1330hrs The central meeting and departure point will be at the Hartherleigh Car Park. This is situated 7.1 miles from the campsite. A member of staff will transport you to the campsite and back again. Car Park Hartherleigh Community Centre, Bowling Green Lane, Hartherleigh, Ex20 3HB Below is a list of clothing and equipment that you will need to bring for the event. We can supply a limited number of items in the Equipment List below that you can use if you do not have any of these items. Please let Nick know one week in advance of the event, which items may be needed. Clothing Hygiene 1 complete change of clothing Boots or Wellingtons Water proof or Shower proof Coat & Trousers Towel Toothbrush and paste Non-scented soap. (No deodorant) Baby wipes (small pack) Personal toiletries Sun cream Anti – midge cream Equipment Sleeping bag Comfort mat Knife, fork, spoon, plate or bowl Mug Torch Water bottle or 1ltr + water plastic bottle (Eg Evian) Non expensive Camera (personal choice) If you have your own tent please bring it along.

The Bushcraft campsite is near Buckland Filliegh - Grid reference (475,093) Welcome to Regional Foster Placements and Bear Tracks, Bushcraft Event 2011. 09th August Morning Prepare & make breakfast Hygiene Prepare bread Make shelters

Afternoon Make shelters Lunch Group rotations; wood scavenging, preparation evening meal, Food of the forest practical, Rope Stretcher carry

Evening Evening meal Team building tasks Camouflage & Concealment Stellar navigation Hot drink

10th August Morning Prepare & make breakfast Hygiene Prepare bread Games and command tasks

Afternoon Lunch Group rotations; wood scavenging, preparation evening meal. Laser Quest games

11th August Morning Prepare & make breakfast Hygiene De-camp shelters, return camp to natural environment Debriefs, Group photos, Certificates Transport to Community Centre
