PETROCHEMICALS: HOW CRUDE.

We think petrochemicals like petrolatum, mineral oil and paraffin should not be used in natural personal care products.

They are derived from a non-renewable resource that is extracted from the earth. There may be a place for them in some products, but we don’t think lip balm is one of them.

BEESWAX: A BEE-UTIFUL CHOICE.

Bees, on the other hand, create incredibly effective and environmentally responsible ingredients. Not only does

skin-softening beeswax in our lip balms provide a natural barrieron the lips to prevent moisture from escaping, it also

allows outside moisture in. And we harvest it carefully from beehives, without harming bees or the earth.

COCONUT OIL

Natural ingredient used to make cleansers that are gentle to the skin.

Preserves skin’s natural protective lipid barrier.

With peppermint oil, invigorates & refreshes the senses.

SODIUM LAURYL SULFATE

Synthetic detergent that is also used as a foaming agent.

Has no inherent moisturizing properties.

Does not meet the standards of the Natural Product Association.

SULFATES: HOLD THE FOAM.

Most sulfates are synthetic cleansers and foaming agents. They are formulated for use in many products from basic

shampoos to laundry detergents. We simply don’t feel that sulfates belong in natural personal care products when

there are so many wonderful natural options available.

PLANT OILS: CLEAN FROM GREEN.

Coconut oil has been used for centuries to make natural cleansers and to moisturize skin. We also use other

botanical oils like safflower to help increase skin’s hydration, peppermint to stimulate the senses, and citrus to energize the mind. And they’re all earth-friendly and you-friendly.

POMEGRANATE

One of nature’s most powerful antioxidants.

Fights free radicals which can break down collagen.

SILICONE: SLIP SLIDING AWAY.

Dimethicone, a slippery silicone, is a synthetic material that is used in some personal care products to fill in lines and wrinkles. As with sulfates, there are many uses for silicones.

And while it’s safe for use in personal care products, it’s not natural and isn’t intended to provide a benefit to the health of your skin. We prefer ingredients that do.

POMEGRANATE: EARTH’S SUPER ANTI-OXIDANT.

The ingredients we use actually provide a real benefit to you and your skin. Like the potent anti-oxidant pomegranate

PARABENS: GET UNDER OUR SKIN.

These chemical preservatives have been the subject of recurring scientific studies. The Natural Products Association does not

certify natural personal care products with parabens. Although the U.S. FDA has found that there is no reason for consumers to be

concerned about the use of cosmetics containing parabens, we’ve decided to avoid using them in our products.

BUTTERMILK: BABY LOVE.

From the beginning, we have preferred to use chemical-free preservatives powered by sugar enzymes to protect the gentle

buttermilk in our lotion and the aloe in our skin crème. By choosing a more wholesome option, you’re helping to

enhance your little one’s well-being.

MILK & HONEY

Trusted ingredients that moisturize skin naturally.

Nourishes skin with healthy vitamins and minerals.

Honey attracts moisture to keep skin soft and smooth.

DMDM HYDANTOIN

A chemical preservative that works by releasing formaldehyde.

Short for 1,3-Dimethylol-5, 5-Dimethyl Hydantoin, its scientific name.

Does not meet the standards of the Natural Products Association.

DMDM HYDANTOIN: NOTHING NATURAL ABOUT IT.

This artificial preservative works by releasing the chemical formaldehyde. Frequently utilized as an alternative to

parabens, it’s another synthetic preservative that we avoid. Especially given the natural preservatives available to us.

MILK & HONEY: PRESERVED IN GOOD CONSCIENCE.

Like we’ve said before, we prefer to use natural preservatives to protect our time-proven ingredients like milk & honey. We sincerely

believe that a natural ingredient should be preserved by another natural ingredient. Otherwise, it’s not really an all natural formula.
