The people who read the journal are academics (people who work in universities), students, social workers, NHS workers, families, and anyone who is interested in learning disability.

As well as papers about academic research, the journal prints:

z book reviews z Special Issues, which are just about one topic z opinions about journal papers (the “In Response” papers)

Some papers are written by people with learning disabilities who have been involved in research.

The editor asks experts to say what they think about the papers. This includes people with learning disabilities. This is called “reviewing” papers. Let us know if you are interested in doing this.

The British Journal of Learning Disabilities is the official journal of the British Institute of Learning Disabilities. The articles are not the official views of the Institute.
