Colonists were afraid they would lose their business/jobs because colonists had to buy their tea from the East India Company. And they would sell it for cheaper because it was NOT taxed! So, many colonists were buying British made tea instead of tea in the colonies!

What was going on with the British East India Company at this time?
Colonists were afraid they would lose their business/jobs because colonists had to buy their tea from the East India Company. And they would sell it for cheaper because it was NOT taxed!
So, many colonists were buying British made tea instead of tea in the colonies!
So the colonies began to boycott British made tea.
Some British ships turned back to England because the tea would not sell and others just sat in the harbor to rot.
