So the colonies began to boycott British made tea.

Some British ships turned back to England because the tea would not sell and others just sat in the harbor to rot.

Winter night of Thursday, December 16, 1773.

According to eyewitness testimonies, the Boston Tea Party occurred between the hours of 7:00 and 10:00 PM

That means it lasted for approximately three hours.

How many colonists? We have 116 people who claim they participated… some could have stayed in secret as well. All males from Boston and the surrounding

area

The colonists dumped 90,000 pounds of tea into the water.

That’s 342 boxes which, in total, weighed 45 tons of tea!
