Querencia refers to a deep longing and love for a specific place and those who inhabit that place. Amy Córdova is a visual artist and award winning children’s book illustrator whose career began in the early 1980’s, at the Elaine Horwich Gallery, Santa Fe. Córdova is known for her vibrant and colorful paintings which are inspired by one’s search for and connection to all things. Dreams, humor, and celebra- tion of the natural world are recurrent themes in her imagery . Córdova’s love of making art spans thirty five years and is reflected in the diverse avenues she has explored. e exhibit “Querencia” will contain works from various periods of her life and creative studies, including broken tile, NEA award winning “picture quilts”, children’s books, and current works on canvas and paper. Querencia refers to a deep longing and love for a specific place and those who inhabit that place.Amy Córdova is a visual artist and award winning children’s book illustrator whose career

began in the early 1980’s, at the Elaine Horwich Gallery, Santa Fe.
