ABOUT...THE BOND concept of a e mag was planned in the early time perios of 2013 in the zonal meeting of zone 7 meeting venues to bridge gap between rotaract clubs of zone 7. It is a collection of the rotaract moments of 8 clubs of zone 7 of RI district 3292.The motto of this emag is to make rotaractors connect to the next level of rotaraction. Sure it will be inspiration for the view-ers to come up with good initiatives. We hope the readers will surely enjoy this e-magazine. Also we thank all the rotaractors , editors , presidents of various clubs for the support and helping to make “THE BOND “ e mag a success.

Secretarial Handover

On 28th July 2012, Past Secretary Rtr. RikeshMaharjan handed over the secretary documents to Rtr. RupeshMaharjan, secretary for the rota year 2012-13. Before that Rtr. RikeshMaharjan shared about his ex-perience as a secretary and wished Rtr. Rupesh all the very best for the upcoming year.

Participation in Installation

1st September - Rtr. Jubin-Shakya, Rtr. RupeshMaharjan, Rtr. Susan Maharjan and Rtr. Suben-Maharjan attended the joint instal-lation ceremony of RC Mahaboud-ha and RC Patan West held at Sri Shanti School, Lalitpur.

Club Assembly

The club assembly was chaired by IPP Rtr. SumanAwale. The club assembly was divided into two phases. The first phase of the as-sembly included the presentation from the four avenue committees. The four committees presented their planning and project sched-ule which included budgeting and project planning. The advisors and thedistrictofficialsgavetheirsug-gestions and opinion to each com-mittee. The second phase of the as-sembly was a workshop intended to develop a good project planning skills in the members. The work-shop was conducted giving each of the members a different project and asking them to design a proj-ect schedule from prevent, on the event and post event planning. The idea developed were then present-ed and the suggestions and addi-tions were done by the DRR and ZS alongside the workshop team.

Club Assembly

Rtn William Ma, chief guest for the program inaugurated 7th installation ceremony of Rotaract Club of Himalaya Patan. In the ceremony, IPP Rtr. Su-man Awale handed over his presi-dent ship to Rtr Fibee Awale and also wished her for a successful tenure.

The new board of directors for the upcoming year was also in-ducted in the ceremony. Also awards were distributed to few outstanding rotaractors of the club. Rtr. Subin Ratna Shaya was awarded as the Best Director. Similarly Rtr. Jubin Shakya was the most Valuable Member and Rtr. Susan Maharjan got the Best New Member Award. There were the presence of all club members, rotaractors from other rotaract clubs, district offi-cials and Rotarians from our spon-soring rotary club. The program was followed by fellowship refreshment.

Rotaract Club of Jawalakhel

Rotaract Mo: Mo Party

On 4th August 2012 Rotaract Club of Jawalakhel had organized Mo:Mo party in Rtr Pratik Man Singh’s residence, Pul-chowk to celebrate friendship day. On that very day club members got chance to interact with each other. Few new ro-taractors met old members and they enjoyed to be the part of rotaract. This project helped to strengthen the bond-ing among club members. Also rotarac-

We believe in good fellowship that helps us understand each other for better per-formance.

Last month, all the members of Rotaract Club of Jawalakhel want together to Hike at Seto Gumba.

Most of us had not been there so it was a great experience for all of us.

The club has been jointly organizing Sathi ko Sath SAP Area project jointly with Rotaractt Club of Netherland.

Club members weekly visit the orphan-age to teach and guide various school subjects.

Recently, we have also conducted a hand wash event to aware the orphans the im-portance of washing their hands and the proper way to wash them.

Rotaract Club of Jawalakhel along with it’s twin club, Rotaract Club of Kastaman-dap had also organized a Charity Movie Show this year with the Movie “Dabaang 2” at QFX Central in order to protect the cultural heritages of Nepal out of the

profit.

Rotaract Club of Jawalakhel and Rotaract Club of Jawalakhel Manjushree organiz-es a yearly dance party event “November Rain” in every year’s month of Novem-ber. The event takes place at Chopstixs, Kumaripati. The event has always been a successful one.

Starting from this year, Rotaract Club of Jawalakhel Presents monthly photogra-phy contest where a total of 9 monthly winners are selected out of each month ans they all compete with each other in thegrandfinaletowinattractiveprizes.

Monthly Photography Competition

Photograph with maximum vote for the month of August with the Theme- SMILE“Rotaract Club of Jawalakhel- Monthly Photography Competition” is a platform for beginner/pro photographers, art-ists and photo enthusiasts for a friend-ly competition among each other. Each month, a theme will be given based on which participant should click a picture about. Theme for the month of August was “Smile”. Selected top 10 participant photos were uploaded on Facebook page for the voting round. The vote was based on the amount of likes a picture gets. The finaljudgmentwasbasedon50%ofthenumberof likesapicturegetsand50%based on club’s judgment.

The winner of the month August was Su-jan Karki, an engineering student from ACME Engineering College who was de-clared winner in the club general meeting on 15th September 2012 for the award.

After having a total of 9 Monthly compe-titions all the 9 winners will be given a chance to compete with each other. The finalwinneramongthemwillbeawardedwith the grand prize as “The Best Annual Photographer”.

Sathi Ko Sath Rotary Club of Groningen Oost and Ro-tary Club of Jawalakhel jointly with Ro-taract Club of Jawalakhel is continu-ing their joint project i.e. Sathi ko Sath since 30th April 2011. We Rotaract Club of Jawalakhel visit the Sathi ko Sath or-ganization at Hattiban every saturday where 47 childrens reside there and they have been sponsored by the Rotary club of Grogninen Oost. They have been pro-viding the children with education and place to stay and the children were from the poor family from different corners of the Nepal. We go there to help the chil-dren with the different subject of their courses.

Rotaract club of Lalitpur

Training on master of ceremony

The main objective of the training was to make the membersunderstand about the role of an ef-fective emcee. The resource person for the train-ing wasMr. Amir Joshi who gave the training based on his personal experience and the situa-tions he faced becoming an emcee. The training started with a small briefing of the definition of an emcee followed by the ideas of being M.C for formal programs and informal programs. Then the resource person briefed different conditions an emcee may face and the things that the em-cee must remember during both formal and in-formal programs. Lastly the program ended with a demo of being M.C by participants in differ-ent situations created by the resource person to make them feel more confident.

Fellowship Football Match

Fellowship football match was played between members of RC Himalaya Patan and RC Lalit-pur with a view to enhance the better relation be-tween members of the two clubs. Participation of the two clubs was good as there were presence of more than 40 rotaractors .Game was concluded with (1-1) draw. Both team played fair and over-all the objective of this project was achieved. At

last, a group photo was taken and club banner was exchanged.

Art Competition

On 24th August, 2012 Rotaract Club of Laitpur organized an art competition among the students of Bal Bidhya Shram School which is the SAP area for this tenure of RC Lalitpur. The main objective of this program was to explore their creativity through art. All together 25 students participated in the art competition who made 25 different amazing pictures and among them we will be selecting 3 best art and rank them 1st, 2nd and 3rd. All the students were given a piece of chart paper, some few colors and one hour time to place their imagination to the paper. Even the smallest member of the school, he probably may be 3 years old participated in the project and en-joyed the one hour time with his creativity on his paper. Watching those children we rotaractors also remembered their childhood. On the proj-ect day, Rtr.Rubin, Rtr,Shovana and Rtr.Rabin were the overseer who continuously inspired the students to do their best performance. This program wouldnot have been successful without the support on Pramila madam (prin-cipal of Bidhya Shram School) , other faculty members and enthusiasm of the students of Bid-

hya Shram School.

Matya Health Camp

On 4th August 2012, Saturday, Rotaract Club of Lalitpur organized its annual “Matya Health Camp” project jointly with Rotary club of Lalitpur where two camps were organized, first camp was on Kanibahal around 9am and the second camp was on Nyachowk around 4 pm. At Kanibahal, devotees were served with the water, lemonade, glucose, jeevan jal and medi-cines. The club members also helped in the traf-fic management and line controlling. Whereas at Nyachowk, members from RC Lalitpur actively participated to help the maximum devotees by serving them water , lemonade, glucose, jeevan jal , medicines and also with ice massage. This program not only beneficiated the club team effort, community service but also to devotees. The camp have been playing important role to show the devotion of youths toward community and culture, preservation and promotion.This program would not have been successful without the help of Rotaray Club of lalitpur, lo-cal people and Rotatarct club of Lalitpur.

SALUTATION of R.C Geras Blue Danube Lower Austria

On 7th July, 2012 salutation of Rotaract Club of Geras Blue Danube Lower Austriawas done in regular meeting. It was the first meeting for this rota year 2012-2013 at

Madan Smarak School at 12:00 P.M when DRR has visited to our club. During thatsalutation brief information of R.C Geras Blue Danube Lower Austria was given.The club is sponsor by RC Geras-Waldviertel, meeting is done every 1st and 3 Tuesday ofthe month at Augustiner Keller Parlor in the first floor (Augustiner Strasse 1, 1010Vienna). There are 9 broad members and 20 members. Total 29 members.Rtr Mag. Roman Hametner is president (2012/2013), Rtr. David Schalkhammer is a vi-cepresident, and Rtr. Mag. (FH) Andreas Pollak is secretary and Rtr. Dr.iur. Ana Stahov isthe in-ternational service director.

Jute bag closingOn 11th August, Rtr. Matina Shakya submitted the oral report on jute bag closing. Jute bag proj-ect was initiated by Rtr. Matina with the theme “Black Plastic Remove Campaign”. The project is the environmental friendly project with the green theme in consideration. This is the project in joint with RC Budol. The project could earn almost double of its investment.

Membership Proposed

Ms. Sittu Shakya on 18th August and Ms. Mittu Shakya, Ms. Prachina Shakya and Ms. Ashmi Shakya on 1st September were proposed in club by the secretary Rtr. Matina Shakya. The basic rules and regulation for being a member was than spell out by the club service director Rtr. Sanjal Byanjankar. According to him, they must attain continuous four meeting for being a rotaractor.

Rotaract Club of Metro City

1. Report on Charter Ceremony

The Chartered Ceremony of Rotaract Club of Metro City was held on 16th Octo-ber, 2012 at Caspain Valley College (BBS & MBS Block), Kumaripati. The program was graced by the guest of honor Presi-dent of Rotary Club of Kathmandu Metro Rtn. Jayan Nyachhyon, New Generation Director Rtn. Razat Pradhanang, DRR Rtr. Bikesh Raj Bajracharya, ZRR Rtr. Prama Shrestha, District officials, ZoneVII presidents and secretaries and fellow rotaractors. The meeting was called in order by Char-tered President of Rotaract Club of Metro City Rtr. Sanjeep Maharjan. The master of ceremony was Ms. Rupa Maharjan. On the behalf of RC Metro City whole family, Rtr Pratyek Awale welcomed all the hon-orable guests, Rotaractors, Rotarians and friends.

2. Report on Blood Donation Camp

On 17th November 2012, Saturday, Ro-tary Club of Kathmandu Metro and Rota-ract Club of Metro City jointly organized

Blood Donation Camp for two hours at Patan Durbar Square with the help of Ne-pal Red Cross Society of Mahabouddha, Kathmandu.50 donors participated in this campaign. Different Rotaract members from RC PDS, RC Patan and RC Himalaya Patan had participated in this campaign and donated the blood. Program was also ad-dressed by Rtn Jayan Nyachhan, Presi-dent of Rotary of Kathmandu Metro, DRR Rtr. Bikesh Raj Bajracahrya and DS Rtr. Muraj Bajracharya.

On 1st December the World Hiv Aids Day, HIV AIDs awareness program was con-ducted by Rotaract Club of Metro City at Jawalakhel, Lalitpur. The program start-ed at 11 A.M followed by a general meet-ing at Caspian Valley College, Lalitpur.The program was held in order to create awareness about the HIV AIDS among the people. The program was conducted by distributing the HIV AIDS symbolize red ribbon and the brochures about the HIV AIDs. The members of Rotaract Club of Metro City went through entire section of Jawalakhel and distributed the HIV AIDS symbolize red ribbon and the brochures.

4. Report on 1st Day of Zonal Basket Ball Match

The 1st day of Zonal Basket Ball Match was held on 8th December 2012, Satur-day at Kathmandu Engineering College, Kalimati, Kathmadnu. The club who will lose the game on 8th December will knock out from tournament. The game was fully in the motive of fellowship. All together seven clubs from Zone 7 were participated in this program. RC Lalitpur, RC PDS, RC Mt.Everest, RC Metro City, RC Himalaya Patan, RC Patan and RC Jawalakhel had participated in this pro-gram.According to game schedule time, the firstdaygamewasbetweenRCLalitpurand RC Jawalkhel, RC Himalaya Patan and RC Mt.Everest, RC Patan and RC PDS. RC Lalitpur, RC Himalaya Patan and RC PDS won the knock out games. Similarly, RC Metro City got by passes forsemi-finaldirectlybecauseofnoop-ponent on that day. These four Clubs will playsemi-finalgameon15thDecember2012 at game schedule.The first day program was conductedvery successfully. It has been very good floor to all clubs for fellowship withinZone Clubs. Program was followed by refreshment and fellowship.

5. Report on 2nd Day of Zonal Basket Ball MatchThe 2nd day of Zonal Basket Ball Match was held on 15th December 2012, Saturday at Kath-mandu Engineering College, Kalimati, Kath-madnu. Those clubs who won knock out round were RC Lalitpur, RC PDS, RC Metro City and RC Himalaya Patan. According to game schedule time, the second day game was between RC Lalitpur and RC PDS, RC Himalaya Patan and RC Metro City. Both the semi-final games were very competi-tive and tough. RC Lalitpur and RC Himalaya Patan secure their final seat for final match which will be going to held on 22nd December at KEC, Kalimati.The second day program was conducted very successfully. It has been very good floor to all clubs for fellowship within Zone Clubs. Pro-gram was followed by refreshment and fellow-ship.

Leadership and Team Building Pro-gram

Rotaract Club of Mount Everest on 31 August, 2012 organized the Leadership and Team Building program with support from PR Foundation, SV Academy and KIAF from 9 AM to 1 PM. There were a to-tal of 74 students from SV Academy and 6 Rotaractors from RCME.Mr Raman Nepali, the resource person from PR foundation, conducted the pro-gram and provided valuable insights on team work and leadership skills along with modern yoga and meditation. A variety of exercises for self development were con-ducted. Other team games that fostered team building within the participants for the attainment of a single goal were also played. Also, Mr Chandan Shrestha from the same organization taught the values

of ethics and moral responsibilities that our generation lacks today. The main objective of the program was also to introduce Rotaractivity to the stu-dents of SV Academy. Rtr Sneha Rai pre-sentedonthebenefitsofbeingarotarac-tor in RCME. Ms Sharare, representative from KIAF, also presented and promoted contempo-rary Nepalese art in the program.The feedback from the program was re-ally good and the students wanted RCME to organize more of such programs.

Cultural Program of Pashupati Bridaasharam

Rotaract Club of Mount Everest orga-nized a cultural program in the Pashupa-ti Bridaashram on 13th of October 2012. The program was organized with the ob-jective to entertain the senior citizens liv-ing there with different performances of the Rotaractors. The program was con-ducted by emcee Rtr Roshan Phuyal. Be-fore initiating the program, there was an interaction with the senior citizens who expressed their happiness and talked about themselves. Similarly, Rotarian Jenny Vaidya briefed about the Rotary and Rotaract movement in Nepal.

The melodious prayer song of Rtr.Sneha Rai started the program which was fol-lowed by beautiful dance performance of guest performer Aditi Rai. Then the entertainment was added in the program by the song of Rtr.Annal Kumar Pradhan which made all dance with fun. Likewise, the dance performance of two Rotarac-tors Sneha Rai and Prerana Rai was too entertaining and appreciative.

Besides Rotaractors, there were per-formances by two non rotaractors who voluntarily sang a song and other made all laugh with his caricature. The peo-ple too enjoyed the instrumental music performed by Rtr.Yohoshu Ghising and other fellow rotaractors. Next, there was a performance of Rtr.Suraj Shakya, a pa-triotic song.

Enthusiastically, the elderly people sang and danced with us and participated in the program. Rotarian Saroj Basnet sup-ported the program with his valuable presence and provided boxes of apples to Pashupati Old Age Home. Finally, the program was ended with speech of Rtn Saroj Basnet and the chief of the Pash-upati Old Age Home.Hamro Cycle YatraThis program was organized to honor the garbage collectors who are disrespected and considered as the lower grade people despite of toiling day and night to keep our society clean and livable. Organized on 11th August marking the United Na-tions International Youth Day 2012. Ro-taract Club of Mount Everest was one of the main supporters for the program and five members represented from RCMEin the program.Cycle Rally,Health Camp/Musical Program, First Aid Info, and Fe-licitation were the attraction of the pro-gram.

Biogas Basics and Rain Water har-

vestingRotaract Club of Patan South in associa-tion with the Interact Club of Rato Ban-gala and the Interact Club of St. Xavier’s School, Jawalakhel organized this pro-gram with a view of starting an energy saving campaign. Biogas Support Pro-gramme (BSP) Nepal gave a presentation/workshop onbiogas and rainwater har-vesting- both of which are very important in Nepal’s present context - on the 8th of September. The projects started by BPS Nepal have been so effective that other nations are following their footsteps. The hosts believed the workshop provided pragmatic knowledge and better under-standing on the above topics as well as on Carbon trading.

Many documents regarding the biogas plant construction and installation, rain-water harvesting and other picture docu-ments were given out by the organization for public awareness about renewable energy and reuse of water.

President Handver 2012

During 407th general meeting of RAC Patan presidentship was formally handed over from Rtr. Suresh Thapa (2011-12) to Rtr. Shailendra Shakya (2012-13) in the presence of past presi-dents and DRR Rtr. Bikesh Raj Bajracharya. Rtr. Shailendra Shakya introduced his new board of directors for RY 2012-13.

MOU Signing with RAC Bhaktapur

The formal MOU signing for twin club forma-tion between RAC Patan and RAC Bhakta-pur was done during 408th general meeting of RAc patan which was also a joint meet-ing. On behalf of RAC Patan, President Rtr. Shailendra Shakya signed the MOU in pres-ence of ZRR (Zone VII) Rtr. Prama Shrestha. Similarly, President Rtr. Milan Bhomi signed MOU representing RAC Bhaktapur.

Joint meeting with RAC Bhaktapur

A joint meeting was conducted with RAC Bhaktapur on 14 July 2012, which was 408th meeting of RAC Patan. The agenda for the meeting was to sign MOU for twin club for-mation for RY 2012-13.

Club Assembly

RAC Patan conducted its first club assembly during 409th general meeting, chaired by ZRR/Past President Rtr. Prama Shrestha. Avenue directors Rtr. Reenu Shrestha, Rtr, Rajan Maharjan, Rtr. Prabesh Maharjan, Rtr. Bipin Raj Baidhya and Rtr. Binod Awale presented their project planning for next six

months on the respective avenues. RC Pa-tan president Rtn. K. B. Basnyat and past president Mr. Mahesh Bajracharya were present to provide feedback and suggetions to the directors

Matya Health Camp

In order to provide health service to "Matya" participants, RAC Patan with the support of Padmawoti Health Center(PHC) set up health camp at Nabahal. During the 2 hour event participants benefitted from basic health service like medication, massage, pain spray etc. The services were provided by RAC Patan members with support from PHC volunteers and locals.

ClassificationTalkProgrambyRtr.Sagar Maharjan

During 410th general meeting Rtr. Sagar Maharjan delivered classification talk pro-gram on the topic "Music and Drums". Rtr. Sagar gave brief information on history of drums, parts of drums and its importance in music. He provided information on different aspects of music including problems faced by musicians, drug aduse related with music and benefits of being a musician. He also informed on how “Drummers’ Day out” was celebrated on 4th August

On 25th of August Rotaract Club of Patan and Rotaract Club of Jawalakhel jointly

hosted Zonal Cots (Zone VII) at Future Star High School at Jawalakhel On the day we training session for Presi-dent, Secratary, Treasure, Avenue Directors and general member were arranged. The trainers were DRR Bikesh Raj Bajracha-rya for president , Rtr. Amit Bajracharya for Secretary , Treasurer by Rtr. SachinAwale, avenue directors by Rtr. Muraj Bajracharya and Rtr. Pranay Shakya and general mem-ber class taken by Rtr. Ekta Acharya and Rtr. Utsav Kharel. ZRR Prama Shrestha and ZS Manorama Koirala were also present at the event. The total participants from 7 clubs were 101.The program started with formal opening by ZRR and host clubs and ended with refresh-ment and games

Rotaract District Sports, ‘The fes-tive of Sportaract’

Every year, Rotaractors and Rotarians around the world celebrate World Rotaract Week dur-ing the week of 13 March to commemorate the founding of the first club in 1968.World Rotaract Week is a time for celebrating the success and importance of the Rotaract program.For Rota-year 2012/13, Rotaract District 3292 has come up with the idea of "DISTRICT SPORTS" to celebrate World Rotaract Week. Fellowship through Service, with this noble per-ception, Rotaract Club of Mahaboudha, Rotaract Club of Patan Durbar Square and Rotaract club of Yala has jointly put in their efforts and showed their interest in hosting the “District Sports- The festive of Sportaract” for the Rota Year 2012-13 which is going to be held on 2nd, 9th and 16th of March, 2013.Despite being divided into two separate zones from this year, these three clubs have always been a successful instance of fellowship amongst the fellow Rotaractors since past few years. The three neighboring clubs have been carrying out remarkable projects targeted at the community, professionalism and fellowship since the year of

establishment. District Sports-‘The Festival of Sportaract’, aimed to celebrate World Rotaract Week and en-hance fellowship amongst the fellow rotaractors, includes four different categories of sports this year: Football, Basketball, Badminton and Table Tennis. A rotaract club / rotaractor can partici-pate in any or all four events as per the interest. A minimum of 40 clubs has been expected to par-ticipate in at least one of the four sub events. As an Opening Ceremony of the Rotaract Dis-trict Sports, a mass gathering of Rotaractors from certain place, led by District Rotaract Represen-tative in a spot and a march of the procession up to sports venue is being planned. For this, as an expectation of 500+ Rotaractors to show up for the sports event, some 250+ number of Rotarac-tors would participate in this march.
