The 9thAnnual Inter-House Athletic Meet for the year 2012-2013 was a grand success. With each passing year the level of competition becomes more intense and stronger, and as regards the standard of the Sports Meet, ‘Well the sky’s the limit.’

The Chief Guest arrived at 2:30 pm sharp and the meet commenced with the welcome address delivered by the Headmaster Mr. F Bunyan. It was followed by the customary opening prayer by the CEO and Hon Secretary Mr. Frank Freese. The Chief Guest for the evening was Vice Admiral Sangram Singh Byce, PVSM, AVSM, NM (Retd.) accompanied by his lovely wife Mrs. Roopa Byce. Mr. Ashley Eates, the ever effusive announcer introduced the illustrious Chief Guest and his impressive achievements in the service of the nation. Truly an Officer and a Gentleman!

The Meet began with the Opening March Past. It was led by Lunn House; winners of last year’s Meet followed by Cooper House who were in turn followed by Freese House and last but not the least Roberts House. Weeks of practice for the march past had brought us to perfection…Impeccably dressed riders rode into the grounds on groomed horses . The Bishop’s school banner was carried by the two riders. endurance of the cyclists.

Next were the 200m races for sub-junior, Junior and Senior Boys and Girls who were cheered loudly by their house mates.

The next one hour was totally engrossing with energetic display of Aerobics by all the teams led by Mrs. Bhanot. This was followed by the Pyramids Displays. The Display demonstrated perfect co-ordination, precision balance and dexterity. The Pyramid formations were a culmination of hard work of Mrs. Dhale and Mrs. Kamei. The highlight of the hour was the scintillating Gymnastics display presented by the Gym team. Led aptly by Mr. R Hrangkhawl who took the first jump off the spring board and landed perfectly. It was leading by example for his Gym team who followed him effortlessly through the various routines. Little Amisha Shinde of Class 4 stole every one’s heart by her flawless performance in Flips, Somersaults, Backflips and Cartwheels. The gym team also rendered an impressive display of waves and front rolls. The leaping through the ring of fire made everyone gasp.

The Relays events followed are were keenly contested. In the end there was Vote of Thanks and Prize Distribution followed by the solemn "Abide with me” and lowering of the flags to “The Last Post”. The Meet finally closed with the singing of the National Anthem. The entire evening worked with clockwork precision, hallmark of every Bishop’s event, due to relentless efforts by our Games Secretary Mr. Alistar Freese. Thank you sir for your guidance and support!!!

As remarked by a proud parent, “The event was flawless, the students well-behaved and the organising team worked like a well- oiled machinery. As parents we are so proud today that our children study at the Bishop’s School.
