Introduction Modern bikes, like racing ormountain that are representedhere, evolved from its

    predecessors in the seventeenth,

    eighteenth and nineteenth

    centuries. The invention of draisine

in 1817, with the handlebarforward, was a major improvement

    over previous designs.

    The pedal driven bicycle appeared

in the 1860s and in the 1890s were

built bicycles with wheels and tires

back and front of equal size, a

    central dish connected to the

    wheels via a chain, inflatable

    wheels and brakes .

    Evolution

In a section of the play "Codez

    Atlanticus" of Leonardo da Vinci

and featured a drawing of a

bicycle. Leonard and thought of achain transmission as those used

    at present.

    These drawings were dispersed

    by time and were collected

    haphazardly in the Ambrosiana

    Library in Milan.

300 years later the Count Mede of

    Sivrac materialized an

    invention much more

    rudimentary than Leonardo for

    amusement of the nobility in

    the streets of Paris.

    1790 with two wooden wheels

    aligned, mounted on the ends

of a beam of a meter long, no

    handlebars that allow setting

    The Walking Machine

In 1817 Baron von Drais invented a walking machine. The devicewas propelled by pushing your feet against the ground. The

machine became known as the Draisienne or hobby horse. It was

made entirely of wood. This enjoyed a short lived popularity as a

fad, not being practical for transportation in any other place than a

    well maintained pathway.

Pedaling Driving levers are added (Basic

    handlebars).

Appear pedals on the front wheel to

    make the drive mechanism.

The machine was driven by the push of

    the feet downward and forward,

    without touching the ground.

The front wheel was higher than the

back to comfortably reach the foot

    pedal.

The pedals on the front wheel were

very difficult to balance while pedaling.

Materiality: The frame and wheels were

wooden, and the tires were of iron.

    The balance

    Believing troubleshoot balance and

    speed, manufacturers increased the

diameter of the front wheels drive

wheels build reaching 3 meters in

    diameter.

All this at the expense of safety, balance

    and weight.

Some models came to weigh 40 kg.

    The velocity

The excessive vibration and instability ofthe high-wheel bicycle, forced inventors

to strive to reduce the height of thebike.

Now the wheels were about the samesize.

    The race

In the 20's invented the shift as a result

of that cyclists had to face (in

    competition or for entertainment) at

enormous distances by road dust, mud

    and snow.

In the decades of 1970 and 1980 are 10-

speed bikes with hand brakes and

    narrow high pressure tires.

    Is implemented to accommodate the

    height adjustment of the seat.

The handlebar is lower to achieve a

    more aerodynamic body position and

    thus achieve greater speed.

The materials are replaced to reduce

    weight, experimenting with metal

    alloys.

    The present bike

A bicycle today is a two-wheeled tricycle equal, which is the subsequent driving.

The bicycle consists of a rigid frame formed bytubes of steel, light alloys or high-strengthcomposite materials, which supports all parts ofthe machine.

At its rear the frame carries a fork holding the frontwheel axis and which is integral with the direction,in the rear fork ends of which has another encirclethe axis of the rear wheel, at the bottom are thepedals, and the angle opposite the seat.

The pedals are the main body of the transmissionof the movement of the rear axle. The front wheelis only guideline.

Being limited in absolute value the effort exertedon the pedals, you have to have severalcombinations to overcome resistance due tovarious road profile. For this reason is mounted agear change. The wheels comprise a rim attachedto the hub by spokes are shod with metal and tires(or if it is tubular racing bicycle).

    Basic Information

The Segway is a very useful invention. It is basically a two-

wheeled scooter. It goes forward when you lean forward; the fartheryou lean that faster you go. To go backward you lean backward; thefarther you lean backward the faster you go. To turn, there is a handleon the handlebars you turn. If you turn it counterclockwise you turnleft, if you turn it clockwise you turn right. It can go 12.5 mph for adistance of 17 miles on a single charge. It weight about 80 pounds, andit can support up to 250 pounds. It uses gyroscopes to stabilize andkeep you upright.

    Interesting Facts

There are many interesting facts about the Segway aswell. It can go over rough terrain easily without the user fallingoff. It can go 6.6x further than walking in 20min. There is acargo system to put on it in order to carry more things. Thereare also all sorts of accessories from bags and storage to lights

and traffic signals. Its also comes in a verity of colors andstyles depending on what you like. There are colors liketitanium color and midnight blue. There are also styals like theI style and the P style.

laws of physics, and modern technology. He has

over 150 U.S. and foreign patents. He founded

    Uses Today

Today it has many uses. It is popular in businesses.

Since it can carry items, it is very useful intransportation. Businesses it is used to carry items fromone place to another. Personal use is common as well.

People can use it to go from store to store, or they cango anywhere they want to. It is also just fun to ridearound.
