O Allah! You are my Lord! Allahumma anta Rabbi

I seek refuge with You from all the evil I have committed

A'udhu bika min Sharri ma sana'tu

I acknowledge all the blessings You have bestowed upon me

abu'u Laka bini'matika 'alaiya

I confess all my sins to You, So please forgive my sins!

wa Aboo o bidhanbi faghrli

fa innahu la yaghru adhdhunuba illa anta

None has the right to be worshipped except You. You created me

la ilaha illa anta khalaqtani

and I am Your servant, and I am faithful to my covenant and my promise as best as I can

wa ana abduka, wa ana 'ala ahdika wa wa'dika mastata'tu

Shaddad ibn Aws (radiAllahu anhu) relates that the Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said that (Sayyid al-Istighfar) is the most superior way of asking for forgiveness from Allah. That "If somebody rrecites it during the day with rm faith in it, and dies on the same day before the evening, he will be from the people of Paradise; and if somebody recites it at night with rm faith in it, and dies before the morning, he will be from the from the people of Paradise."[Sahih al-Bukhari; 8,75,318)
