  • \ The Belleville Triplets

  • Belleville Rendezvous (or The Belleville Triplets) is a comedic French film written and directed by Sylvain Chomet. Who is also known for The Illusionist and Paris, je taime. Chromet has a very illustrative and distinctive 2d style. Batrice Bonifassi, Lina Bourdreau and Charles Linton are a few of voices starring in the film. The film follows the story of Madame Souza who with her beloved canine companion Bruno who together follow the kidnappers of her grandson who was kidnapped and taken to America while participating in the Tour de France. Once reaching America Madame Souza teams up with the Belleville Triplets in order to rescue her grandson from the mafia. The film was highly comedic and its able to express a lot emotion and show a lot of charm from the small amount of dialogue in the film, the strong stereotyping is really humorous and created a really enjoyable film. The music and sounds were used really well the music was catchy and the animation style was pleasing to the eye and highly stylized. I would definitely recommend this film simply because it was fun to watch and looked wonderful.
