Train children in the right way, and when old, they will not stray. Proverbs 22:6
One of my goals as your pastor is to create more opportunities for young adults and young families. Our young adult’s class that I started and Wesley now leads (ages 18-40) has been meeting for two years now. 4th Sunday Funday, a monthly fellowship opportunity for our younger children, morphed into God Squad (pre-K-3rd grades) which meets on the 4th Sunday, and Chi Rho (4th-6th grades) which meets on the 2nd Sunday/summers off. Two new things are coming for young families. I will begin teaching a Sunday School class for Chi Rho aged children (4th-6th grades) beginning on Sunday, August 12. If you have children in this age bracket, they will now receive lessons catered to their specific needs. There will also be something I am calling “Parent’s Night Out.” Parents and grandparents may drop their children at the church, and we will have a meal (sponsored by the care council) along with a movie with them in the sanctuary, and activities for the very young children. Our first Parent’s Night
Out happens on Friday, August 24 from 5:30-8:00 pm. (Also, parents and grandparents, watch for an upcoming letter about God Squad and Chi Rho meetings that will start back up in September.) If you would like to help with any of the events and learning opportunities for children and young families, please contact me. We deeply appreciate your encouragement and support! ~Roslyn
