Missionary Moment
As an exciting new years approaches, we see many opportunities to minister to our community. There are still many families in our community that need food. Many of our local food pantries are running low and need our help. If your church can help, it would be much appreciated. You can drop food items off here at the associational office, and we will make sure pantries receive it.
The Jefferson County Association’s Baptist Builders completed their work at the Boys and Girls Club. A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Monday, December 23. There is a great opportunity to reach children for Christ here. There is the possibility that a Good News Club could begin there soon. Good News Clubs are after school Bible clubs where children are taught about Jesus. This is a joint ministry of our association and Child Evan-gelism Fellowship. If you are interested in helping, please contact Amy Tjoa at 417-844-2418. We already have clubs meeting at Dandridge Elementary and Mt. Horeb Elementary. We be starting several more soon. Pray about being involved in this great ministry.
A Survey of The New Testament I class, taught by Pastor John, will begin at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, January 6. The class, which is an hour and a half long, is for anyone who would like to attend. The cost of the book will be covered by the association. There is no charge for the class. In this class, in-troductory material and the four Gospels will be studied.
A Disciple Now weekend for all middle and high school students will be hosted by Carson Springs Conference Center. The dates are February 28 – March 1, 2020. I am looking forward to this event as we seek to reach our young people with the gospel of Jesus Christ. If you would like to register your group, please contact Kevin Perrigan at [email protected].
Please continue to pray as we sow seeds of the gospel through Bap-tist Builders. We water the seeds through visitation and outreach to these families. God has allowed us the joy of seeing the harvest; people coming to faith in Jesus Christ. You are invited to join us in this effort.
We will close out the month with our annual Evangelism Rally. It will be held at First Baptist Church in Dandridge. The service will begin at 6:00 P.M. and Dr. Bill Henard, Sr. Pastor at First Baptist Church in Athens, will bring the message. They will have a combined choir.
