How to tie a secure dental floss loop?

1. Take a piece of 20-25cm long dental floss.

2. Hold the ends of the dental floss together.

3. Make a small loop around the finger tip of the forefinger.

4. Pass the ends of the dental floss through the loop.

5. Make a knot.

6. Repeat procedure 3, 4, and 5 twice to make three knots.

7. Stretch the dental floss gently to tie the three knots together.

Three knots should be overlapped at the same position.

Action 1. Use the thumbs and the forefingers of both hands to hold the floss, leaving about 2 cm of floss

in between. Use a sawing motion to slide the floss into the interdental space.

2. Wrap around one tooth making a "C" shape and gently pull down to the deepest part of the

gingival sulcus, and then slide it up and down against the tooth. Then wrap around the adjacent

tooth and repeat the up and down motions.

3. Clean all the other adjacent tooth surfaces in the same way.
