THE BAROMETER Importance:

All weather happens in the atmosphere. Barometers are important because they identify changes in the atmosphere, including changes in air pressure that affect the weather.

TYPES OF AIR PRESSURE There are 2 types of Air Pressure:

LOW PRESSURE Low pressure usually means it will be

cloudy, rainy, or windy.

Low pressure means no force, or pressure, to push the clouds and storms away.

HIGH PRESSURE High pressure areas usually create

sunny and clear skies.

The higher pressure in the atmosphere pushes all the clouds away.
