Comfort Realized Isaiah 52:7-10
From Our Pastor. . . Virtual Singing Christmas Tree – Christmas is perhaps the most musical time of the year. This year we will enjoy the music of the season in a new way. Members of our Sanctuary Choir and Children’s Choir participated in The Virtual Singing Christmas Tree project, which is the brainchild of composer and musician Joseph Martin. This Christmas season our choirs were unable to present their usual Christmas programs and cantatas. So, we chose to join in with three-hundred choir members from across
the US along with several guest artists to create a Virtual Singing Christmas Tree for 2020.
This virtual concert was born from our desire to share the music of the season in a joyful new way. It is a gathering of hope and a concert of joy. The Virtual Singing Christmas Tree is the centerpiece of this amazing Christmas concert. Guest artists provide their own Christmas magic, and there are several traditional carols that you may join us in singing.
We hope that you will follow the link on our church website (www.abingdonbaptist.org) and enjoy the ministry, artistry, and community of our Virtual Singing Christmas Tree to the glory of God in this beautiful season. Abingdon Baptist Sanctuary Choir members participating were Joel Brame, Bill Bryan, Vicki Burkett, Carol Clifton, Nadine Culberson, Margaret Deans, Parke Deans, Pat Dunn, Ed Eller, Margaret Klose, Shane Lawson, Jill Minor, Rose Payne, and Abigail Sluss. Caleb Harris and Addison Light participated from our Children’s Choir. We thank these choir members for their contributions to this amazing and beautiful project.
