I dragged myself through to science, making sure my bag was properly on my shoulder. I hated the

way it hung past my knees, booting me in the back of the leg whenever I walked. And the fact that

the new trend to push someones bag off their shoulder? Whats the point?

I sat down in my seat at the back of the classroom and sighed. Obviously my loud mouth science

partner Jess wasnt here yet again. I think she skips science on purpose. She hates me. I hate her. Oh

well right? I smiled at my friend across the room. She had to sit next to a popular as you call it. Me

and Cassidy, or Cass as I call her hated everything and anything popular. Snobby, uptight and rude.

Okay. Settle down then! Mr Adams shouted, silencing us all in seconds. He terrified us. He was

about 7 foot, had dark brown hair. His eyes were like glass. They could see through you and that

scared us the most. I pulled my book out my bag and looked at the board. The Solar System. Oh

    great...

My attention hooked to the door as it swung open. None other than Eddie strolled in, his bag

hanging halfway off his back. His brown hair messy, his dark blue eyes scimmed the room and thenlooked at Mr Adams. He was going to get in trouble, and I couldnt be happier. I hated his guts. Well,

I had never spoken to him before. But he acted like a jerk. He wasnt popular. He always sat on his

own at lunch, and was never seen after that. He walked towards his seat.

Stop right there MrCarter The teacher began, pointing his death glare at the boy. Take a seat next

to Macy please! that got my attention most. He did not just say my name. Please no.

Yes sir! Eddie sighed, throwing his bag on the table next to me, making me jump. I looked over at

Cass, who was practically wetting herself a few tables away from me. I pulled my dark brown hair

over the side of my face and slumped in my chair. This couldnt be happening. Save. Me.

I could literally smell him from our widened distance. I tried to put my finger on it. Freshly cut grass

with a hint of cologne in there. They were the only ones I could pick up on. He had moved here less

then two months ago. Everyone wanted to know him, everyone wanted to be his friend, but yet he

    never let anyone in.

So, you and your partner sitting beside you will explore the ranges of the solar system and hand in a

report of at least 7 pages about the chosen planet. You have until Monday I felt like screaming. Me

and HIM? WHY? Why did the stupid teacher hate me so much?

You have to be kidding me? I mumbled, throwing my head in my hands.

Jupiter! a voice perked up beside me. I love the word Jupiter. Dont you? I turned my head and

looked at him. Was he kidding?

Huh? I had never heard him speak so much. His dark blue eyes looked like they were going to suck

me in, like little black holes. His skin was a fair colour like mine. It matched my brown eyes and

straight long brown hair that hung just above my waist.

Jupiter? You know? The planet? The assignment! he said, a small smirk appearing at the crack of

his lips. Maybe I should ask for a smarter partner! was he mocking me?

Whats your idea of smart? Blonde hair? Cheerleader? Barbie?

Dont push it shortcake! Shortcake? What was I? A biscuit?

    Short-what?

Shortcake! What are you? 4 foot 3? 5? Youre extremely short! 4 foot? I wasnt a munchkin!

Im 5 foot! I snapped, rolling my eyes. And I dont would rather not have a lecture from you

thanks! I opened my text book and began scimming the lines.

Well I hate you too! Eddie snapped back just as quick, staring intensely at me. Were doing Jupiter

    K?

K? Mind speaking English? I smirked past my hair as it hung over my face as I smirked.

I do! Macy Thomas, darling, do you mind us doing this lovely project based on the planet Jupiter?

he said in a stereotypical English accent. He was definitely mocking me.

I dont talk like that! I said defensively. I speak like a normal person! I did. I dont sound like an

old fashioned Victorian! What days are you free this week?

Are you asking me out? him? gross...

Im asking when we can get this project over and done with! I hated spending the last five minutes

with him. let alone the next 6 days.

Whatever you say! he threw his hands into the air. Im out until 8ish everynight. I go out on a

Wednesday, when does it fit you? I heard the sarcasm in his voice. Thats it. I hated him. so, so

    much.

Well 8 is too late. But you could stop by mine on your way back? I asked, getting a pen out ofmy

pocket and scribbling down notes. Might as well get as much done before I had to see his face.

I dont know where you live you know?

Washington street. Number 13 I said simply, writing it down on a piece of paper and tearing it out

    of my notebook.

Washington street? What are you the queen? he laughed to himself.

And where do you live? I imagined him living in some apartment on Bridge street.

Lynx road if you must know. Ill leave the number a mystery for you he winked at me. Ugh. Jerk.

Wow. How exciting! I said sarcastically. But Lynx road? Isnt that where that guy got shot last

month? his eyes turned to the darkest blue there was. Had I said something?

Ill stop by around 9 he wiped his nose with his sleeve and stood up.

    Thats not wha-

I said 9 his face was emotionless.

Okay okay. See you at 9 I said, confused. And bring your text book with a nod, he walked out just

as the bell went. 6 days with this guy? Oh gosh..
