The Dixieland Band, “Strictly Dixie” started in 2003 when several musicians formed a musical group to celebrate Mardi Gras for St. Thomas Aquinas Church. After many rehearsals and

a search for appropriate music and outfits ‘Strictly Dixie” was formed. Since then they have preformed for many local communities. The 9 member band with a singer includes all the traditional instruments of this type of ensemble and plays music from the Jazz era of the roaring twenties and thirties. *Please sign up under #11 in the Activities Book.

Painting Classes with Bruce Chandler Wednesdays, February 10 & 24, 2016 10:00 am - 1:00 pm in the Art Room

All levels are welcome and encouraged to participate, even beginners!

We will have two classes in February with Art Teacher, Bruce Chandler on Wednesday, February 10th and 24th from 10 am to 1 pm in

the Art Room. Bruce Chandler is a seasoned teacher, having taught classes for forty seven years. She is a go with the flow teacher in that students may paint in their preferred medium in a class with different mediums being used. She feels that students learn more in such classes with the opportunity seeing how various mediums are used. Watercolors will be utilized in the beginning for ease of mobility as this instructor will bring supplies to utilize while being introduced to some of the basics that apply to all mediums. At the point that a student has a medium preference, then said student will purchase supplies and will begin his or her individual journey. *Sign up under #10 in the Activities book.
