Painting Classes with Bruce Chandler Wednesdays, March 2, 16 & 30, 2016

10:00 am - 1:00 pm in the Art Room

All levels are welcome and encouraged to participate, even beginners!

We will have class on Wednesdays March 2, 16 and

pm in the Art Room.

Bruce Chandler is a seasoned teacher, having taught classes for

forty seven years. She is a go with the flow teacher in that students

may paint in their preferred medium in a class with different

mediums being used. She feels that students learn more in such

classes with the opportunity of seeing how various mediums are used.

Watercolors will be utilized in the beginning for ease of mobility as

this instructor will bring supplies to utilize while being introduced to some of

the basics that apply to all mediums. At the point that a student has a medium

preference, then the student will purchase supplies and will begin his or her

individual journey. *Sign up under #2 in the Activities book.

Topic: Topic: Diabetes and the “Diabetic Diet”

Join us in March to discuss Diabetes, the signs and symptoms of

diabetes and the recommended dietary approaches for good blood sugar

control. Many doctors will tell you to avoid white bread, white potatoes,

white rice and sugar; but the diabetic meal plan is more complex than just removing

“white” foods from your diet. This program will also be beneficial to folks who have

been recently diagnosed with “pre-diabetes.” Of course weight loss and exercise will

be discussed as both are excellent approaches to lowering blood sugar levels.
