The Neely Water Reclamation Facility is owned by the Town of Gilbert and operated on a contract basis by Severn Trent. The facility, which was AZ Water plant of the year in 2009 and 2013, provides 11 mgd of treatment capacity. The plant’s unit processes include screen-ing, grit removal, denitrification, oxidation ditches, clarification, sand filtration and bleach disinfection. A 2 MW solar field provides 40% of the plant’s required power with the plant being totally off the grid during peak solar production.
Reclaimed water produced at the Neely WRF is delivered to Gilbert’s Riparian Preserve, an innovative facility that provides for aquifer recharge of reclaimed water while also providing an environmental and recreational amenity for the community.
Riparian Preserve address: 2757 E Guadalupe, Gilbert 85234
Plant address: 402 N Neely Street, Gilbert AZ 85233 (come north from Elliot Rd.)
