The Asian Captive Conference will be returning for its second year on August 1-2, 2018. The conference is dedicated to the development of self-insurance in the region and is a collaboration between Labuan International Business and Financial Centre and the Labuan International Insurance Association. This year’s conference themed “Challenges in Self-Insurance: Transparency and Digital Disruption” aims to highlight the challenges and disruptors risk managers are facing from technology, which is fast changing their respective business models. At the same time, risk managers are also required to meet the growing demands of tax transparency and substance brought about by multilateral organisations and Regulators.
The conference will share the best practices and strategies relating to various self-insurance models, risk retention approaches and domicile selection adopted by multinational companies and industry professionals. In addition, there will be a dedicated presentation on Protected Cell Companies.
The 2018 conference envisages to attract more than 300 delegates such as captive owners, captive managers, brokers, domicile regulators and officials from Malaysia and around the region. Do leverage on the opportunity to meet, learn and network with industry specialists.

Terms of Agreement The above Proposal for a Strategic Partnership (“Proposal”) and the terms herein constitute the terms and conditions of this Event Sponsorship / Management Agreement (“Agreement”) governing the collaboration between Labuan IBFC Incorporated Sdn Bhd (LIBFC) and the Client for the hosting of the Event set out in the "Event Specifics" section of the Proposal. Duration of Agreement This Agreement shall become effective on the date signed below and will expire upon completion of the Event. The Client’s obligation to pay the Fees (as defined below) shall survive the expiry of this Agreement. Dispute Resolution Without prejudice to any other rights or remedies that each party may have, the parties agree to negotiate in good faith to resolve any dispute that may arise between them regarding this Agreement. Confidentiality All information relating to this Agreement is confidential; each party shall not disclose such information to any other third party or make use of the information for purposes not related to this Agreement. Intellectual Property LIBFC agrees that all legal and beneficial ownership of intellectual property rights in the Presentation Materials, Corporate Materials, trademarks, service marks, trade names, copyrights, and other materials originating from the Client belong to and remain vested in the Client or their licensor. LIBFC hereby undertakes to the Client not to use or otherwise deal with the Corporate Materials for any other purpose other than the sole purpose of, and to the extent required to conduct the Event in accordance with this Agreement. LIBFC shall abide by any restrictions or limitations on such use of the Corporate Materials as may be notified to it from time to time. Acceptance This Agreement may be executed in counterpart, and this has the same effect as if the signatures on the counterparts were on a single copy of this Agreement. Any copy delivered by one party to the other in the form of email or facsimile is equally binding as the original. Variation No variation of this Agreement shall be effective unless it is in writing and signed by both parties. Governing Law and Jurisdiction This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia. The courts of Malaysia have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute arising out of or in connection with this Agreement. Event Sponsorship & Management Fee Schedule and Costs Payment of 100% to be paid within 30 days upon issuance/acceptance of the Invoice. All amount due must be paid prior to the conference (latest by 1
st July 2018).
Cancellation/Refund In the event that the conference is cancelled for any given reason, the organisers will refund the exhibition/sponsorship/advertising money to the relevant company, minus any benefits that have been received by the company prior to the cancellation and any expenses incurred by the organisers with respect to the provision of the agreed benefits. In the event that the Sponsor wishes to cancel their sponsorship, please note that all initial payment will be forfeited. No refund will be entertained. Payment Type & Details
