In 2005, The Ashford Formula was applied to 2,100 m2 of the Kwang Yuan Plastic Company’s Manufacturing Plant in Tai Chung, TAIWAN.

The Ashford Formula was used to seal and harden the floors, and protect against concrete dusting.

The Ashford Formula locks in salts in the concrete that normally cause concrete dust to form. It prevents concrete dusting from entering the plastic production process, settling on inventory, finished products, and equipment.

Dai Dong Tien Plastics Company is a highly respected company in Vietnam. They currently provide more than 250 kinds of plastic products for both factories and households, locally and throughout the world.

With such distribution network, Dai Dong Tien management is focused on product quality and customer satisfaction. In order to meet growing production needs, Dai Dong Tien refurbished its older factories and built new ones.

In 2005, Ashford Formula Vietnam applied the Ashford Formula to one factory’s floor. The floor results were scientifically verified by an independent testing laboratory. After seeing the results, Dai Dong Tien asked Ashford Formula Vietnam to apply the Ashford Formula to the concrete floors of five (5) of their newly built factories.

The Ashford Formula was applied to the Spel Embalagens Ltda facility in Atibaia, Sao Paulo, BRAZIL in 2009, seven (7) days after concrete wet curing.

The area was cleaned with a neutral pH detergent and floor scrubbing machines in order to properly prepare the floor’s surface for the Ashford Formula application.

The Ashford Formula was applied by surface saturation, and the excess material was removed from the floor after completion.

A month later, the floor was cleaned and burnished with a high speed machine and black pad.

ELIMINATES CONCRETE DUSTING

The Ashford Formula chemically reacts within the concrete, eliminating dusting and protecting against pitting and rutting.

This substantially reduces maintenance costs and protects sensitive machinery and equipment from dust particles.

It also prevents concrete dust from combining with, or affecting the plastic as it is being manufactured.

IMPERMEABILITY

Tests were carried out on concrete samples treated with the Ashford Formula according to requirements of DIN 1048.

Three (3) cored samples were kept under a pressure of 5 bar (72.5 psi / 0.49 MPa).

The test measured depth of penetration against time. To be regarded as impermeable, the concrete cannot allow a depth of penetration greater than 50 mm / 1.97 in.

The average penetration of water into the samples treated with the Ashford Formula was 7 mm / 0.27 in.

Conclusion:

An average penetration depth of 7 mm / 0.27 in observed in the test samples gives evidence of the high impermeability of concrete treated with the Ashford Formula.

RESISTANCE TO TIRE MARKING

In the past 60 years, the Ashford Formula has been used on a variety of surfaces exposed to pneumatic wheeled traffic or solid tires.

Consistently, users report that tire marking is significantly reduced when the concrete is treated with the Ashford Formula. They also report that when tire marks occur, they are much easier to remove than they are on untreated concrete.

When the concrete is chemically hardened with the Ashford Formula, water blasting and other methods of tire mark removal do not damage the underlying surface.

The Ashford Formula has been thoroughly tested in the United States and Europe for abrasion resistance. The ability of the Ashford Formula to prevent surface erosion has been verified by these results:

• 50% improvement vs. 3600 psi / 24.82 MPa concrete• 37% improvement vs. 5000 psi / 34.47 MPa concrete• Equal to concrete treated with a dry shake hardener

ASTM C779:

Standard Test Method for Abrasion Resistance of Horizontal Concrete Surfaces. Concrete treated with the Ashford Formula was 32.5% more resistant to abrasion than untreated concrete.
