Congratulations, Andrew Williams!

Holy Family Parish congratulates Andrew Williams who graduates from High School this month. Andrew attended the Parish Religious Education program for 15 years, 2005-2020 without missing a year.

The office will be closed for Memorial Day May 25.

E-Mails Please If you have not provided the Parish Office with your e-mail or if your e-mail has changed, please call the Office and give it to Rhonda. We will not be doing any more Covid-19 bulk mailings so the best way for us to keep you up-to-date on changes in our liturgical schedule is through e-mails. This is very important if you want to stay informed on the most current information.

News and Upcoming Events

If you have missed a bulletin, full versions are on our website

www.holyfamilycatholicchurch.org

Thank you for your Service. Holy Family Parish wishes to acknowledge and thank all our health care workers for their un selfish dedication during this pandemic.

Celebration of Sacraments of Initiation Because of the closure of the Church for Holy Week and Easter, the Elect in our RCIA program were not able to celebrate the Sacraments of Initiation—Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist at the Easter Vigil. They continued their journey of preparing for the day when the Church would re-open its doors so they could be welcomed into the Church. Next Sunday, the Feast of Pentecost, will be their big day to become fully initiated into the Church. While the service will be an abbreviated rite, it will be meaningful to them. Next week’s bulletin will include the pictures and names of our newest members. Thank you, Nelda Troyer, for your continued work during this pandemic closure to continue preparing them for this big day.

Shortened Masses

We have been asked to shorten our Masses for the time being so that people will not gathered as a group in a confined space for an extended period of time. We will try to keep our weekend Masses to 30 minutes or less by shortening the homily, eliminating the Creed and Prayers of the Faithful at Sunday Masses. The weekday Masses will continue to be 25 minutes or less.

Congratulations, First Communicants Two weeks ago five children in our Parish celebrated their “first” Communion in our Parish. They were Xavier Bravo, Austin Scadden, Michael Ermer, Samuel Bartholomew and Carmen Copenhaver. The First Communion class will have their “formal” First Communion in September when all the children will be presented their Bibles and certificate. Because of the delay between the children finishing their class and September, the families who wanted their child to celebrate the Sacrament early so they could continue receiving Communion through the summer were permitted to do so. Thank you, Mika Newberry for all your work preparing the children for this important Sacrament.

Music Ministry Resumes in the Parish

Next weekend we will resume some limited music ministry at two of our weekend Masses. We will begin to have some organ music with cantor at the

5:45 p.m. Saturday Vigil Mass and at the 10 a.m. Sunday Morning Mass. The cantors will sing the psalms and service music (no Gloria) at these two Masses. (Singing will be limited for the foreseeable future since there is a danger in singing, coughing, shouting, etc. of potentially spreading the virus.) In June we will begin having organ and cantor at the 9:00 a.m. Sunday morning Mass also. There will be no choir or choir practices through the summer and possibly fall.

Marian Flowers If you brought flowers for the Marian Shrine in front of the Church, your vases are available in the Church kitchen in the back of the Church. Thank you for bring-ing flowers during the month of May and for the beauti-ful shrine that was created in honor of Mary during the month.

Diocesan Directives for Reopening Parishes By entering the Church or Parish buildings, all individuals agree to the following:

*To not attend Mass or other activity if you are vulnerable, ill or afraid of infection

*To acknowledge that the Church cannot guarantee your safety in attending this worship service or other activity

*To take all responsibility for your own well-being and health against Covid-19 and hold the Church harmless (not liable) since the virus can spread asymptomatic

*To understand that the normal Sunday obligation to attend Mass is currently suspended in the Diocese

*To observe proper “social distancing” of six feet

*To obey all instructions given by the priest

*To wear a mask while entering or existing, if you are over the age of three
