Dale and Janny The Art World of the Elliotts The Elliotts have been in the Art Workshop and Painting Course business for 35 years, during which time more than 4000 creative folk have shared the magic of the brush, canvas and palette with them. Their earlier Art Holidays were held at Mount Aux Sources and San Lameer, before they conducted their acclaimed Knysna Painting Holidays from their Leisure Isle studios for almost two decades... 2004 saw the venture into their biggest challenge yet - to create and build the ultimate art facility in Villiersdorp- their newly adopted Western Cape Town. Villiersdorp is situated in the winelands between the Boland and the Overberg - one of the most picturesque areas of Southern Africa. From these superbly appointed premises Dale and Janny Elliott, and their son Mel and his wife Carine, conduct their multi level art courses throughout the year. The complex also has a beautiful gallery displaying their work, as well as framing, catering and admin faciliteis. Dale finds added inspiration for his artwork in the high quality of the Winsor & Newton products, and respects their colour durability. He enjoys their vibrant colour range and their fluid consistency. The Elliotts have introduced thousands of artists to the Winsor & Newton Range through their Painting Courses and their studio shop stocks a range of Winsor & Newton artists materials. Janny, apart from handling the early demands of raising their four children, created their first art gallery in 1979. They are leaders in the painting course concept in South Africa, having conducted over 400 courses over 35 years. Their son Mel (B Comm (Stell) Marketing) is a professional artist and partner in the studio as well as the director of the art complex. Dale is an associate of the Watercolour Society of S.A., and his work is represented in many collections locally and overseas. He is well-known for the commissions he undertakes, and he has appeared on television a number of times on various art-related programmes and projects. He does unique public demos, having recently painted a large oil live with the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra at a Gala banquet.
