Students from Berkeley Glenn Elementary, Westwood Hills Elementary. Wenonah Elementary, and William Perry

Elementary Schools in Waynesboro visited the Museum Friday morning and took a tour. P. Buckley Moss' message to the children was, "Find what you love and do it."

Ms. Moss was the lead speaker for the Museum's Disabilities Awareness Month and spoke of her struggle with dyslexia and how it enabled her to become a successful artist.

P. Buckley Moss worked with a select group of about sixteen students in a classroom setting, which included an

art demonstration.

P. Buckley Moss was invited to visit Offutt Air Force Base in Bellevue, NE. While in Omaha, Pat unveiled her painting, Generals at General's Row, at a fundraising event to benefit the base's Youth Programs Center.

Zoe Erickson is sitting on a tryke provided by GreeneBucs, which enables her to get around. Her parents adopted her

from China with a special request: they specifically wanted a child with club feet, because the mother had club feet as a child and would understand what it is like. L.R.: Joyce Peet, therapist; P. Buckley Moss; Richard Erickson, father;

Greenebucs is the Greene County Chapter of National AMBUCS™, Inc., which is a non-profit service organization dedicated to creating mobility and independence for children and adults with disabilities.

During the weekend's activities, Pat Moss led a walk to raise funds for breast cancer research and awareness. Herself a survivor of breast cancer, Ms. Moss has led fundraising walks in cities across the country for decades. Her first walk in Waynesville took place in 1993 to benefit PALS for Life.

130 people took part in this year's "Walk with Moss" in Waynesville, OH to raise funds for breast cancer awareness

and research. The walk benefitted the PALS for Life Breast Cancer Support Group and the Dale Bowman Scholarship Fund. Pictured L. to R.: Pam Bowman, co-owner of Hammel House Inn B & B and wife of Dale Bowman; Joan

Fire Department, a member of the Southeast Chapter of the Guardians of the Ribbon, a group of firefighters, police officers, and leaders in the community whose purpose is to raise awareness and money for the fight against breast cancer.

Moss Quilt fetches record amount for charity

At the fundraising dinner for GreeneBucs a new record was achieved of $6,000 for a P. Buckley Moss quilt. The quilt consists of 9 squares hand painted by Ms. Moss, arranged and stitched by Marian Gebele of Beavercreek, OH. Proceeds were split between GreeneBucs and the P. Buckley Moss Foundation for Children's Education.

quilt-in-progress that she is working on for the P. Buckley Moss Foundation for Children's Education. It will be taken on the Moss Society Alaska Cruise next summer and auctioned off. Not only is Cindy working on this quilt, but she also

recently made another quilt with a Moss centerpiece which the Trees of Life Chapter auctioned to benefit a family in need in their area. That quilt raised $3,500.

Shoppe, Kalona, IA, to raise funds for the charitable works of the Moss Country Friends Chapter of the P. Buckley Moss Society and for the P. Buckley Moss Foundation for Children's Education.

P. Buckley Moss appeared at an exhibition of her work in Kalona, IA, hosted by Doris Greiner, owner of Village Shoppe. The weekend's events included a fundraising dinner and auction organized by the Moss Country Friends Chapter of the P. Buckley Moss Society. The auction raised over $8,300. The chapter will use the funds raised to purchase a Gate Trainer for a little Amish girl in the area, assist with medical bills for another young girl in the area, and purchase a CD player and books-on-CD for Mid-Prairie High School. Of the amount raised, $4,650 was achieved through the auction of two quilts made around hand-painted centerpieces by P. Buckley Moss. The quilt auction proceeds will be divided equally between the Chapter for its charities and P. Buckley Moss Foundation for Children's Education.

A raffle raised $1,050 to purchase iPads for Keota (Iowa) Elementary School's Reading and Math programs.
