1: Introduction This portal provides an easy to use mechanism for generating and retrieving your ARM development tool license files. Should you have any problem logging in or using the system, please send an email to [email protected]

2: Generating a license To generate a new license from the Connect License Management Homepage click on the link Software Licenses as seen in figure 1 below.

Figure1: The Portal Home Page. This will take you to the licensing homepage as seen in figure 2 on the next page.

Page 3: The ARM Licensing User Guide€¦ · The ARM Licensing User Guide. ... If you have any problems generating, saving or retrieving your license, please email . license.support@arm.com

Figure 2: The Licensing Home Page. Please note, these instructions are for ARM Product Licensing. For Keil Licensing click on the link to the Keil Website. In the Resources box on the left, under Licensing click on Generate. This will take you to the first of the license generation pages, as in figure 3.

Figure 3: The 1st License Generation Page. Type in your Product Serial Number and click on the Get License button. You will then be taken to the second license generation page where you will be asked to provide your host ID information. See figure 4 on the next page.

---NOTE--- You can normally generate a license only once from the web licensing portal.

The only exception is if you have a multi seat floating license and you want to split the seats over two or more servers.

If you want to move the license for a different machine at a later time, you will need to go through our rehost process.

We will go through this in detail later in this document.

Figure 4: The Host ID Information Page. ARM Licenses are locked to the host ID of your PC or License Server. This will be explained in more detail as we work through this section. At the time of purchase, a number of seats will be allocated to a serial number. The host ID page enables you to see for a particular product and serial number how many seats were purchased, how many have been used and how many are still available. If your license is for more than 1 seat, you must enter the quantity of seats you wish to generate in the “Quantity to Fulfill” box. You can either generate the total number of seats available or, if you wish, split your seats between many sites and therefore, different host ID’s. For example if there are 4 seats available, you may wish 3 seats for 1 site and 1 seat for another so you would enter “3” in the “Quantity to Fulfill” box and enter the host ID information, generate the license then return and generate the remaining 1 seat. Enter host ID Information (Required): You must enter the host ID information for your license file. The license will normally be locked to your Ethernet Card. For details on how to find your host ID, see the FAQ: “How do I find my host ID?” at: http://infocenter.arm.com/help/index.jsp?topic=/com.arm.doc.faqs/kiLwjCHu92xQmR.html or the ARM FLEXlm Management Guide, provided with your tools.
