The summer holidays represent the busiest

considerable effect on processing times for
your long service leave claim – make sure
you submit yours before the cut-off date so
you can sit back and relax this summer.
NEWS
DID YOU KNOW MORE THAN 90,000 WORKERS RECEIVED THEIR 2017 STATEMENT AND THE REWARD VIA EMAIL?CoINVEST is making the move online and we want you to transition with us. This year, more than
90,000 workers received both their Statement of Service and Reward via email. Be sure to provide us
with your current details, through the competition, online or call our customer service team on
1300 CoINVEST (1300 264 683) to ensure you stay up to date with CoINVEST moving forward.
Our Phones Are Running HOT! This time of year is always busy for us
(everyone else too we’re sure!). As a result
you may notice slightly longer wait times if
you’re calling the CoINVEST hotline. Our
customer service team are doing all they
can to work through the higher capacity of
callers, although if your query isn’t urgent,
delay your call a few weeks to minimise
wait times in the queue!

Claims paid up to 75% faster using…
CROPCoINVEST’s ‘Calculated Rate of Pay’ (CROP) system enables workers’ claims to be processed up to 75% faster than standard online or paper applications.
An average claim can take up to four
weeks to process due to factors such as
payslip validations, reporting checks,
and approval processes. They can even
take longer than four weeks when there
is high demand on our services during
peak periods such as Christmas – hint
hint, get your claim in before the cut-off
date of 11 November if you want to be
paid before Christmas 2017.
By accepting the ‘Calculated Rate of Pay’
when offered, your online claim
circumvents most of these factors and
goes straight to the top of the queue
(because all the hard work and
calculations have already been done)
and will be paid to your nominated
account no more than fi ve days later!
This is just one of the many ways in
which CoINVEST is working to improve
your claim experience, and bring you
that little bit closer to your well-earned
break!
If you’re lodging a long service leave claim between now and 31 March 2018, make sure you submit your claim online to be automatically entered into the draw to win 1 of 50 gold class double passes on offer, courtesy of Village Cinemas.

DOUBLE PASSES HEALTHTIPS
HEALTH & WELLBEING
Working onsite can be taxing for workers both mentally and on your body! That’s why we’ve compiled a list of our 10 favourite health tips to ensure you remain fi t, healthy and on your feet!
>> LISTEN TO YOUR BODYIf you suspect health issues, pay
attention to your body! Speak to a
medical professional and don’t ignore
the warning signs, your health is the
most important factor.
>> AN APPLE A DAY...Healthy eating doesn’t mean you need to
sacrifi ce energy. Brain foods just like
bananas, oranges, oats, grain bread and
baked beans are high in energy, but low
in GI to keep you going throughout the
day.
>> SAVE THOSE PENNIESTry and take your lunch to work 3 days a
week. Not only will it save you dollars,
you’re more likely to eat healthier AND
enables you to really look forward that
group Friday lunch with the team.
>> SPEAK UP Mental health is just as important as
your physical health. If you feel like you
are suffering from anxiety or depression,
the best thing you can do is talk to
someone. Whether it’s a family member,
colleague, or an organisation like Beyond
Blue, there is always someone who
wants to listen.
>> CATCHING ZZZ’SPoor sleep patterns can easily affect
your healthy eating habits and exercise
regimes. Make sure you maintain a good
routine which will help you to remain
mentally alert and more energetic
throughout the day.
>> HOW LOUD IS TOO LOUD? Tradies can often be exposed to loud
noises for extended periods of time.
Always make sure you have the right
protective equipment on at all times and
visit a local audiology clinic for a regular
hearing check-up.
>> LESS DRINKING, MORE THINKINGWhile enjoying a drink at the end of the
day might be a favourite among your
work crew, it’s important to think
carefully before consuming alcohol or
drugs. Alcohol and drugs can hinder
your decision making skills and ability to
use your body properly, making you a
danger to yourself and others at work.
>> SLIP, SLOP, SLAPBe mindful of your daily sun exposure to
UV radiation. Make sure you regularly
apply sunscreen whenever you are
working outdoors.
>> MUSCLE MAN As a tradie, your days are often fi lled
with physical and repetitive work. A
strong core section will improve your
lifting technique and posture when
lifting heavy objects. Get moving like a
well-oiled machine, and put a stop to the
aches and pains.
>> NO SHORTCUTS Don’t be a lazy tradie! Using the wrong
hand and the wrong power tools can
cause injuries. Choose hand tools that
are comfortable, light, balanced and
require as little force as possible.
